Diaqua-tetra-kis-(1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane-κN)-manganese(II) bis-(perchlorate) ses-qui-hydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Mn(C(13)H(14)N(2))(4)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(2)·1.5H(2)O, the Mn(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from four different 1,3-di-4-pyridyl-propane mol-ecules and two O atoms from two coordinated water mol-ecules, leading to a distorted MnN(4)O(2) octa-hedral geometry. Each 1,3-di-4-pyridyl-propane ligand displays a monodentate coordinating mode. In the crystal, there exist O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The perchlorate anions and the coordinated and lattice water mol-ecules play an important role in the formation of these hydrogen bonds. One of the two lattice water molecules shows half-occupancy.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear complex, [Mn(4)(C(12)H(6)O(4))(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)(H(2)O)(8)]·4H(2)O, two independent Mn(II) ions are coordinated in a slightly disorted octa-hedral environment by two aqua ligands, two naphthalene-1,8-dicarboxyl-ate (1,8-nap) ligands and one bis-chelating 2,2'-bipyridine (2,2'-bipy) ligand. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains along [100]. These chains are further linked by weak ?-? inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range of 3.609?(2)-3.758?(1)?Å, forming a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the polymeric title complex, {[Mn(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Mn(II) cation is coordinated by two benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anions, one benzimidazole ligand and two water mol-ecules in a distorted MnNO(5) octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, each benzene-dicarboxyl-ate anion bridges adjacent Mn(II) cations through the terminal carboxyl-ate groups, forming a polymeric complex chain along the a axis. One Mn-O(carboxyl-ate) bond is much longer than the others. In the crystal, π-π stacking is observed between nearly parallel [dihedral angle = 4.32 (6)°] benzimidazole aromatic ring systems of adjacent mol-ecules, the centroid-centroid distance between the imidazole and benzene rings being 3.5421 (11) Å. Extensive inter-molecular O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present in the crystal structure. The two lattice water mol-ecules are located on twofold rotation axes.

Project description:In the title compound, [CoCl(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))](n), 1,3-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)propane (bpp) ligands bridge four-coordinate Co atoms, generating an extended one-dimensional zigzag chain. Both the Co and two Cl atoms in the tetrahedral coordination polyhedron lie on a mirror plane, while the bbp ligand is bis-ected through the central C atom in the chain by a second mirror plane. There are some π-π stacking inter-ations in the crystal structure, with inter-planar distances of 3.449 Å, which are responsible for the supra-molecular assembly.

The 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane ligands are doubly bridging and connect the Co(II) ions into one-dimensional chains. The asymmetric unit also contains one uncoordinated 1,3-di-4-pyridylpropane mol-ecule, one 2-methyl-4-nitro-aniline mol-ecule and one perchlorate anion. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds connect the one-dimensional chains into a two-dimensional network.

Two L ligands are related by a centre of symmetry and bridge Mn(II) ions, forming a positively charged polymeric chain in [101]. Uncoordinated nitrate anions further link these chains into layers parallel to the ac plane via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(9)H(4)O(6))(C(12)H(12)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·7H(2)O, the Ni(II) atom is six-coordinated by two O atoms from a chelating carboxyl-ate group of a 5-carb-oxy-benzene-1,3-dicarboxyl-ate ligand, two O atoms of two water mol-ecules and two N atoms from a 6,6'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Project description:In the title compound, [CrCl(2)(C(3)H(10)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the Cr(III) atom is coordinated equatorially by four N atoms of two propane-1,3-diamine (tn) ligands and axially by two mutually trans Cl atoms, thus displaying a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry with no crystallographically imposed symmetry. The two six-membered chair chelate rings in the complex cation are in an anti conformation with respect to each other. The Cr-N bond lengths range from 2.0831 (18) to 2.0917 (19) Å, and the Cr-Cl bond lengths are 2.3148 (6) and 2.3135 (6) Å. The perchlorate anions have slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometries. Weak inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the tn ligand NH groups as donors, and chloride ligands and anion O atoms as acceptors are observed.

The crystal packing is stabilized by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding interactions.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]SO(4)·6H(2)O, the complex cations assemble into positively charged sheets parallel to (010) via inter-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions with a mean interplanar distance of 3.410?(6) along [100] and 3.465?(5)?Å along [001]. The sulfate anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are inter-connected between these layers by hydrogen bonds, forming negatively charged layers which are linked to the positive layers through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional architecture. Both the positive and negative sheets are stacked along [010] in an ?ABAB? sequence, the A layers being shifted by 1/2a along [100] with respect to the B layers. One of the uncoordinated water molecules is equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:The title complex, [Mn(C(7)H(6)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], was obtained by the in situ hydro-thermal reaction of MnCl(2) with 2-(2-pyrid-yl)acetonitrile in the presence of NaN(3). The Mn(II) atom, which is located on an inversion centre, has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry formed by two water mol-ecules and two chelating ligands. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonds and π-π inter-actions (3.452 Å) stabilize the crystal structure and lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network.
