ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [RuCl(2)(C(13)H(17)N(3))(C(2)H(6)OS)(CO)], the coordination environment around the Ru atom is slightly distorted octa-hedral. The Cl atoms are mutually trans to the dimethyl sulfoxide ligand and the imidazole carbene C atom, respectively. The carbonyl ligand is located trans to the pyridine N atom.

Project description:The Ru(II) atom in the title compound, [RuCl(2)(C(12)H(18))(C(9)H(12)ClN(3)O)]·CHCl(3), exhibits a typical piano-stool coordination, defined by a hexa-methyl-benzene ligand, two chloride ligands and a pyridyl-urea ligand coordinated through the pyridine N atom. In the crystal, a dimeric structure is observed due to two strong N-H⋯Cl inter-actions between the NH groups of urea and the two chloride ligands of neighbouring mol-ecules. In addition, the C=O group of the urea moiety inter-acts with the solvent mol-ecule through weak C-H⋯O interactions.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, [RuCl(2)(C(4)H(8)OS)(3)(H(2)O)], is the isomer with the two chloride ligands cis and the three S-coordinated tetra-methyl-ene sulfoxide ligands facial relative to the Ru(II) center. The Ru-Cl distances are 2.4161 (7) and 2.4317 (7) Å, the Ru-O distance is 2.1540 (19) Å, and the Ru-S distances are in the range 2.2254 (8)-2.2657 (7) Å, with the shortest being that trans to the aqua ligand. The coordinated water mol-ecule forms inter-molecular hydrogen bonds with Cl and sulfoxide O atoms.

Project description:The title compound, cis,fac-dichloridotetra-kis(dimethyl sulfoxide)-κ(3)S,κO-ruthenium(II), [RuCl(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(4)], was obtained from newly synthesized ruthenium complexes of 3-amino-2-chloro-pyridine. The Ru atom has a distorted octa-hedral coordination with two cis-oriented chloride ligands and four dimethyl sulfoxide ligands. Three of the sulfoxide ligands are S-bonded in a fac configuration, while the fourth is O-bonded. The title compound represents a new, and fourth, polymorph of the complex. Two other monoclinic forms and an ortho-rhom-bic modification have been reported previously.

Project description:The title compound, [RuCl(2)(C(8)H(6)O)(C(21)H(26)N(2))]·C(4)H(10)O, contains a catalytically active ruthenium carbene complex of the 'second-generation Grubbs/Hoveyda' type with Ru in a square-pyramidal coordination, the apex of which is formed by the benzyl-idene carbene atom with Ru=C 1.827 (2) Å. The complex shows the uncommon cis, rather than the usual trans, arrangement of the two chloride ligands, with Ru-Cl bond lengths of 2.3548 (6) and 2.3600 (6) Å, and a Cl-Ru-Cl angle of 89.76 (2)°. This cis configuration is desirable for certain applications of ring-opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP) of strained cyclic olefins. The crystalline solid is a diethyl ether solvate, which is built up from a porous framework of Ru complexes held together by π-π stacking and C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O inter-actions. The disordered diethyl ether solvent mol-ecules are contained in two independent infinite channels, which extend parallel to the c axis at x,y = 0,0 and x,y = , and have solvent-accessible void volumes of 695 and 464 Å(3) per unit cell.

Project description:The reaction of di-chlorido-tetra-kis-(dimethyl sulfoxide)-ruthen-ium(II) with N,N-bis[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]methyl-amine aff-ords the title complex, [RuCl2(C13H15N3)(C2H6OS)]. The asymmetric unit contains a well-ordered complex mol-ecule. The N,N-bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]methyl-amine (bpma) ligand binds the cation through its two pyridyl N atoms and one aliphatic N atom in a facial manner. The coordination sphere of the low-spin d (6) Ru(II) is distorted octahedral. The dimethyl sulfoxide (dmso) ligand coordinates to the cation through its S atom and is cis to the aliphatic N atom. The two chloride ligands occupy the remaining sites. The bpma ligand is folded with the dihedral angle between the mean planes passing through its two pyridine rings being 64.55 (8)°. The two N-Ru-N bite angles of the ligand at 81.70 (7) and 82.34 (8)° illustrate the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry of the Ru(II) cation. Two neighboring molecules are weakly associated through mutual intermolecular hydrogen bonding involving the O atom and one of the methyl groups of the dmso ligand. One of the chloride ligands is also weakly hydrogen bonded to a pyridyl H atom of another molecule.

Project description:Reaction of dichloridotetra-kis(dimethyl sulfoxide)ruthenium(II) and N-[3,5-di-tert-butyl-2-(trimethyl-silyl-oxy)benz-yl]-N,N-bis-(2-pyridylmeth-yl)amine (BPPA-TMS) affords the thermodynamic product cis,fac-[RuCl(2)(BPPA-TMS)(DMSO)] and kinetic product trans,mer-[RuCl(2)(BPPA-TMS)(DMSO)]. The title complex, [RuCl(2)(C(30)H(43)N(3)OSi)(C(2)H(6)OS)]·2CH(2)Cl(2), crystallizes as a dichloro-methane disolvate, with two formula units in the asymmetric unit. The complex exhibits a distorted-octa-hedral geometry about the low spin d(6) Ru(II) center. The BPPA-TMS ligand is coordinated in a facial fashion, with the DMSO ligand cis to the aliphatic nitro-gen atom of the BPPA-TMS ligand. One of the two dichloromethane solvate molecules is disordered over two positions in a 0.695:0.305 ratio.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ru(C(28)H(22)N(2)P)Cl(CO)(2)]·CH(2)Cl(2), the Ru(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The N-phenyl group of the ligand has undergone orthometalation; as a result, the tridentate phosphane-functionalized N-heterocyclic carbene ligand is coordinating in a meridional fashion. This complex is of inter-est with respect to transfer hydrogenation catalysis and also provides an example of C-H activation behavior in late transition metal complexes. The dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two sets of sites with an occupancy ratio of 0.873 (14):0.127 (14).
