ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Co(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(3)], the Co(III) ion lies on a threefold rotation axis and is in a distorted octa-hedral environment defined by three N and three O donor atoms from three fac-disposed pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands. The ligands are coordinated in a chelate fashion, forming three five-membered rings. In the crystal, translationally related complex molecules are organized into columns along [001] via C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(3)N(2)H(5))(3)[Dy(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)]·3H(2)O, contains a mononuclear Dy(III) complex with the rare earth metal cation in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic environment. The Dy(III) ion is in each case O,N,O'-chelated by three tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions. Three protonated imidazole mol-ecules act as counter-cations and three lattice water mol-ecules are also present. Numerous N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonding inter-actions, some of which are bifurcated, help to stabilize the packing of the structure.

Project description:In the mol-ecule of the title compound, [Co(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the coordination environment around the Co(II) atom is distorted octahedral; two N and two O atoms of the pyridine-2-carboxylate ligands lie in the equatorial plane and the two water O atoms in the axial positions. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming a supra-moleular network structure.

The coordination polyhedron around Tb(III) adopts a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. Project description:The three-dimensional title coordination polymer, {[Tb(2)(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(2)(H(2)O)(5)]·H(2)O}(n), was hydro-thermally synthesized by reacting the corresponding rare-earth salt with pyridine-2,4,6-tricarb-oxy-lic acid (H(3)ptc). There are two independent Tb(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is nine-coordinated, forming a monocapped NO(8) square-anti-prism and the other is eight-coordinated exhibiting a 4,4-bicapped NO(7) trigonal-prismatic environment. The complex units are inter-connected through the ptc(3-) anions acting in different coordination modes, resulting in a three-dimensional coordin-ation polymer. The crystal structure features extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

One Ce(III) cation is coordinated by seven carboxyl-ate O atoms from six pyd anions and two water mol-ecules in a square-face-capped square-anti-prismatic geometry. Another Ce(III) cation is coordinated by seven O atoms from six pdy anions and one water mol-ecule in a bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. Project description:In the binuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [In(2)(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(2)(C(7)H(4)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, which contains both pyridine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate and 3-carb-oxy-pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands, the In(III) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. One pyridine ligand is N,O-chelated while the other is N,O-chelated and at the same time bridging to the other via the second carboxyl group. In the crystal, an extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding network, involving the coordinated and lattice water mol-ecules and the carboxyl groups of the ligands, together with C-H?O and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.793?(1)?Å], leads to the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

The cation is also six-coordinate with an octa-hedral geometry around the Zn atom, located at a axis. Non-covalent inter-actions such as ?-? stacking [centroid-centroid distance = 3.828?(4)Å] and O-H?O hydrogen bonds play important roles in stabilizing the supra-molecular structure.
