ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Co(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(3)], the Co(III) ion lies on a threefold rotation axis and is in a distorted octa-hedral environment defined by three N and three O donor atoms from three fac-disposed pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands. The ligands are coordinated in a chelate fashion, forming three five-membered rings. In the crystal, translationally related complex molecules are organized into columns along [001] via C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(3)N(2)H(5))(3)[Dy(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)]·3H(2)O, contains a mononuclear Dy(III) complex with the rare earth metal cation in a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic environment. The Dy(III) ion is in each case O,N,O'-chelated by three tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions. Three protonated imidazole mol-ecules act as counter-cations and three lattice water mol-ecules are also present. Numerous N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding inter-actions, some of which are bifurcated, help to stabilize the packing of the structure.

Project description:The reaction of Co(NO(3))(2)·3H(2)O with pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid and 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole in a 1:1:3 molar ratio affords the title complex, [Co(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(C(5)H(8)N(2))(3)]·H(2)O. The Co(II) atom is coordinated by one pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate chelating ligand and three 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Hydrogen-bonding interactions involving the coordinated carboxylate group, 3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazole and water help to consolidate the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(4)H(7)N(2)O(2))(2)Cl(C(8)H(9)NO(2))]·CHCl(3), was synthesized as a model complex of vitamin B(12). The Co(III) cation displays an approximately octa-hedral coordination environment, being displaced by 0.0240 (15) Å from the mean plane of the four N atoms of the equatorial plane. The O-H distances in the dimethyl-glyoximate hy-droxy groups are 0.89 (6) and 1.14 (6) Å; such long O-H bonds are very common in cobaloxime derivatives. Weak classical O-H⋯N and non-classical C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions further consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:The title compound, (C(4)H(12)N(2))(3)[Nd(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)](2)·15.33H(2)O or (pipzH(2))(3)[Nd(pydc)(3)](2)·15.33H(2)O (in which pipz is piperazine and pydcH(2) is pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid), was synthesized by the reaction of NdCl(3)·6H(2)O with the proton-transfer compound (pipzH(2))(pydc) in aqueous solution. The nine donor atoms of the three pydc(2-) ligands form a distorted tricapped trigonal-prismatic arrangement around the Nd(III) center. Considerable C-O⋯π stacking inter-actions between CO groups of carboxyl-ate fragments and aromatic rings of pydc(2-) with distances of 3.135 (5)-3.255 (5) Å are observed. In the crystal structure, a wide range of hydrogen-bonding [of the types O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O, with D⋯A distances ranging from 2.608 (10) to 3.278 (7) Å], ion-pairing and C-O⋯π stacking interactions connect the various components into a supra-molecular structure. There is a high degree of solvent disorder in the structure; the occupancies of five water molecules refined to 0.6, 0.5, 0.4, 0.25 and 0.25.

In the complex, the Pt(4+) atom is six-coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by two N atoms and two O atoms from two pyridine-carboxyl-ate (pic) ligands and two Cl atoms. The Cl atoms are cis with respect to each other. The compound displays inter- and intra-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding.
