N'-(5-Chloro-2-hy-droxy-benzyl-idene)-4-meth-oxy-benzohydrazide.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(15)H(13)ClN(2)O(3), contains two independent hydrazone mol-ecules. Each mol-ecule adopts an E configuration with respect to the methyl-idene unit and forms an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond. The principal difference between the two unique mol-ecules is the relative orientation of the two benzene rings, the dihedral angles between them being 4.0?(3) and 65.9?(3)°, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains running along the c axis.
