ABSTRACT: The 1,10-phenanthroline-chelated Co(II) atom in the polymeric title compound, {[Co(C(7)H(4)O(6)S)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(2)]·1.5H(2)O}(n), is connected to the sulfonate O atom of one 4-hy-droxy-3-sulfonato-benzoate dianion and to the carboxyl-ate O atom of another dianion. It is also coordinated by two water mol-ecules in a trans-CoN(2)O(4) octa-hedral environment. The dianion links adjacent metal atoms into a chain running along [110]. The chains are linked by O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Pb?(C?H?O?S)?(C??H?N?)?(H?O)?]·CH?COOH, the seven-coordinate Pb(II) atom is chelated by two N atoms of one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, four O atoms from three 5-sulfosalicylate dianions and one water O atom. Each dianion serves as a bridging ligand, connecting adjacent Pb(II) atoms into a centrosymmetric polymeric chain extending parallel to [001]. There are ?-? inter-actions between the aromatic systems of neighbouring dianions, with plane-to-plane distances of 3.371?(2)?Å, and between phenanthroline ligands, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.484?(2)?Å. O-H?O hydrogen bonding additionally stabilizes the crystal packing. The acetic acid mol-ecules are incorporated in the voids of this arrangement. They exhibit half-occupancy due to disorder around a centre of inversion.

Project description:In the title polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(4)ClO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](n), the Pb(II) ion displays a distorted pseudo-octa-hedral coordination geometry. The metal center is coordinated by six O atoms from four 5-chloro-salicylate ligands and two N atoms from a chelating phenanthroline ligand. The polymeric structure is built up from bridging carboxyl-ate O atoms, forming chains along [100]. The crystal structure is stabilized by ?-? inter-actions between the 1,10-phenanthroline and 5-chloro-salicylate ligands, the shortest centroid-centroid separation between neighbouring aromatic rings being 3.652?(1)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, [La(C(7)H(5)O(4))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(3)(H(2)O)(2)]·C(12)H(8)N(2), the La(III) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two chelating 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands, four O atoms from three 2,6-dihy-droxy-benzoate (DHB) anions (one monodentate, the other bidentate) and two water O atoms, completing a distorted LaN(4)O(6) bicapped square-anti-prismatic geometry. Within the mononuclear complex mol-ecule, intra-molecular ?-? stacking inter-actions are observed, the first between a coordinated phen mol-ecule and a DHB ligand [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7291?(16)?Å], and the second between a coordinated phen mol-ecule and an uncoordinated phen ligand [centroid-centroid distance = 3.933?(2)?Å]. Inter-molecular ?-? stacking is observed between adjacent complexes [inter-planar distance = 3.461?(3)?Å]. Intra- and inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds are observed in the DHB ligands and between a water mol-ecule and DHB ligands, respectively. O-H?N hydrogen bonds are also observed in the DHB ligands and between uncoordinated phen mol-ecules and aqua ligands.

The dihedral angle between the 1H-benzimidazole-5,6-dicarboxyl-ate and 1,10-phenanthroline ligands is 74.41?(4)°. The crystal packing is governed by inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. All water (coordin-ating and lattice) mol-ecules take part in the hydrogen-bonding inter-actions. In addition, there are ?-? stacking inter-actions between inversion-related phen ligands, the shortest centroid-centroid distance being 3.7536?(16)?Å. One of the two lattice water molecules shows half-occupancy.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(7)H(4)ClO(3))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Zn(II) cation is coordinated by two 4-chloro-2-salicylate anions, one 1,10-phenanthroline ligand and one water mol-ecule in a square-pyramidal coordination geometry; the Zn cation lies 0.4591 (11) Å from the basal plane. The benzene rings of the anions are involved in π-π stacking. The centroid-centroid distance between parallel benzene rings of adjacent mol-ecules is 3.9017 (17) Å, and the centroid-centroid distance between benzene and pyridine rings of adjacent mol-ecules is 3.584 (2) Å. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is present.

Project description:The hydro-thermal reaction of CoCO(3) and 4-fluoro-benzoic acid afforded the title Co(II) complex, [Co(C(7)H(4)FO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n). The Co(II) atom is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by six O atoms from two water mol-ecules and four ?(2)-carboxyl-ate groups of 4-fluoro-benzoate anions, forming a distorted CoO(6) octa-hedron, with Co-O bond lengths in the range 2.071?(2)-2.130?(2)?Å. All adjacent O-Co-O angles are in the range 84.78?(6)-95.22?(6)° and opposite angles are 180.0°. Each ?-carboxyl-ate group of the 4-fluoro-benzoate anions bridges two symmetry-related Co(II) atoms. Hydrogen-bonding inter-actions of the coordinated water mol-ecules further connect the cobalt-carboxyl-ate units, forming layers perpendicular to the a axis. The cobalt-oxygen layers are encased in a sandwich-like fashion by layers of ?-stacked 4-fluoro-benzoate anions. Within these layers the benzene rings of the 4-fluoro-benzoate anions are ?-stacked, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.432?(4)?Å.
