ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(13)H(8)N(4)O(3))(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O, the complex molecule, except for the aqua ligand, is essentially planar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.034?(2)?Å]. The coordination polyhedron of the Cu(2+) cation is a square-pyramid, with the aqua ligand at the apex. The compound exhibits a three-dimensional structure, which is is stabilized by O-H?O and O--H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 2.987?(3)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C6H4NO2)2(H2O)2]·0.5C3H7NO, the Zn(II) ion is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral N2O4 environment by two N,O-chelating pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and two cis water mol-ecules. The chelating pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands create two five-membered Zn/N/C/C/O rings, which form a dihedral angle of 86.4?(2)°. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the complex mol-ecules into a two-dimensional network parallel to (100). The di-methyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule is disordered about a twofold rotation axis.

Project description:The three-dimensional title coordination polymer, {[Tb(2)(C(8)H(2)NO(6))(2)(H(2)O)(5)]·H(2)O}(n), was hydro-thermally synthesized by reacting the corresponding rare-earth salt with pyridine-2,4,6-tricarb-oxy-lic acid (H(3)ptc). There are two independent Tb(III) atoms in the structure, one of which is nine-coordinated, forming a monocapped NO(8) square-anti-prism and the other is eight-coordinated exhibiting a 4,4-bicapped NO(7) trigonal-prismatic environment. The complex units are inter-connected through the ptc(3-) anions acting in different coordination modes, resulting in a three-dimensional coordin-ation polymer. The crystal structure features extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

One Sm(III) ion is nine-coordinated by one N and five O atoms from the three ptc ligands and three aqua ligands in a distorted monocapped square antiprismatic geometry, and the other is eight-coordinated by one N and five O atoms from three ptc ligands and two aqua ligands in a 4,4'-bicapped trigonal anti-prismatic geometry. The ptc ligands brigde the Sm(III) ions into a three-dimensional polymeric framework. Extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding is observed in the crystal structure.

In the crystal, an extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding network, involving the coordinated and lattice water mol-ecules and the carboxyl groups of the ligands, together with C-H?O and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.793?(1)?Å], leads to the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(7)H(3)NO(5))(C(14)H(12)N(2))]·3H(2)O, there are two independent neutral mol-ecules of the Cu complex along with six mol-ecules of water of hydration in the asymmetric unit. The Cu(II )atoms in each complex adopt a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry being penta-coordinated by one N and two O atoms of 4-hydroxy-pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions and two N atoms of 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmp) molecules. In the crystal structure, there are O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and five ?-? stacking inter-actions with centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.620?(1)-3.712?(1)?Å. In addition, a C-H?? inter-action between a heterocyclic ring of dmp is observed to reinforce the crystal cohesion.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(3)(C(6)H(5)N(2)O(2))(2)(NO(3))(H(2)O)(2)](n) contains three Li(I) ions, two ligand anions, two water mol-ecules and a nitrate anion. Related by a centre of inversion, they form a centrosymmetric mol-ecular cluster in which one of the Li(I) ions shows trigonal-bipyramidal and the other two distorted tetra-hedral coordination. Li(I) ions are bridged by water O atoms and carboxyl-ate O atoms donated by one of the ligands. The clusters, bridged by two nitrato O atoms, form mol-ecular columns along [010], which are held together by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.694?(1) and 3.796?(1)?Å].
