2-[(E)-3,4-Dimeth-oxy-benzyl-idene]hydrazinecarboxamide.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(10)H(13)N(3)O(3), the 3,4-dimeth-oxy-benzyl-idene and hydrazinecarboxamide groups are oriented at a dihedral angle of 53.82?(6)° and an intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bond generates an S(5) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds into sheets propagating in (-201), which feature R(1) (2)(5), R(2) (2)(8) and R(2) (4)(14) loops.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(14)N(2)O(4), has two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. In both mol-ecules, the nitro and the two meth-oxy substituents are coplanar with the benzene rings to which they are attached. The benzene rings are nearly coplanar, with dihedral angles between the two benzene rings of 10.39 (8) and 5.95 (8)° in the two mol-ecules. The two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit are rotated with respect to each other such that the dihedral angles between equivalent benzene rings are 49.11 (8) and 63.93 (8)°. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen-bond contacts and a weak C-H⋯π inter-action are observed.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(9)H(11)N(3)O(3), consists of two crystallographically independent mol-ecules. Both mol-ecules are almost planar, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.107 and 0.099 Å. In the crystal, the two independent mol-ecules form a dimer with an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The dimers are further linked into a three-dimensional network by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.
