Project description:The title compound, C18H23N2O2 (+)·Cl(-), crystallizes with two independent cations and anions per cell. Each cation has twofold rotational disorder about the linking vinyl groups but with unequal occupancies [0.963?(5):0.037?(5) and 0.860?(8):0.140?(8)]. The two independent cations are close to being related by an inversion centre but the data does not support the expected centrosymmetric space-group assignment. The conclusion is that the differing rotational disorder has lead to an overall non-centrosymmetric lattice. In the crystal, the mol-ecules pack in layers parallel to (133) and (-13-3), chain-linked with motif C (1) 2(7) by the di-hydroxy-propyl O-H?Cl?H-O hydrogen bonds. Other lattice binding is provided by O-H?Cl, C-H?Cl and C-H?N inter-actions.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C16H12N6O4, is built up from two fused five- and six-membered rings linked by an ethyl-ene group. Project description:Compounds (I), C22H20N2O2, (II), C22H20N2O2 and (III), C20H18N2O3 are the products of three-component reactions between isatoic anhydride, the corresponding amine and 3-(5-methylfuran-2-yl)- or (furan-2-yl)-2-methyl-acryl-aldehyde. Compound (I) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n, while compounds (II) and (III) are isostructural and crystallize in the ortho-rhom-bic space group Pbca. The tetra-hydro-pyrimidine ring in (I)-(III) adopts a sofa conformation. The NH nitro-gen atom has a trigonal-pyramidal geometry, whereas the N(R) nitro-gen atom is flattened. The furyl-vinyl substituents in (I)-(III) are practically planar and have an E configuration at the C=C double bond. In (I), this bulky fragment occupies the axial position at the quaternary carbon atom of the tetra-hydro-pyrimidine ring, whereas in (II) and (III) it is equatorially disposed. In the crystal of (I), mol-ecules form hydrogen-bonded chains propagating along [001] by strong inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The chains are packed in stacks along the a-axis direction. In the crystals of (II) and (III), mol-ecules also form hydrogen-bonded chains propagating along [100] by strong inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. However, despite the fact that compounds (II) and (III) are isostructural, steric differences between the phenyl and furyl substituents result in chains with different geometries. Thus in the crystal of (II) the chains have a zigzag-like structure, whereas in the crystal of (III), they are almost linear. In both (II) and (III), the hydrogen-bonded chains are further packed in stacks along the b-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, C(23)H(18)N(2)O(4)S(2), contains a pyrrolo group fused onto the plane of an indole ring with phenyl-sulfonyl and p-toluene-sulfonyl groups bonded to the indole and pyrrolo rings. The angles between the mean planes of the pyrrolo-indole ring and the phenyl-sulfonyl and p-toluene-sulfonyl rings are 73.7 (6) and 80.6 (0)°, respectively. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the two benzene rings is 78.7 (4)°. In the crystal, both classical N-H⋯O and non-classical C-H⋯O inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are observed, as well as weak π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.6258 (8) and 3.9298 (8) Å], which contribute to the stability of the packing.
