ABSTRACT: In the title molecular salt, C(11)H(10)N(2)O(2+)·2ClO(4) (-), the complete cation is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry. The dihedral angle between the pyridyl rings is 67.07?(7)°. The crystal structure features N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, forming sheets in the ab plane.

Project description:The title salt, C(16)H(18)N(6)O(2) (2+)·2ClO(4) (-)·2H(2)O, was obtained unintentionally as a major product in the reaction of Zn(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O with the N',N'(2)-bis-[(1E)-1-(2-pyrid-yl)ethyl-idene]ethanedihydrazide (H(2)L) ligand. The (H(4)L)(2+) cation lies across a centre of inversion. The pyridiniumimine fragments of (H(4)L)(2+) adopt syn orientations. Intra-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of S(5) motifs. In the crystal, neighbouring cations are connected by π-π inter-actions between pyridinium units with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.600 (1) Å. Moreover, the crystal components are assembled into two-dimensional layers via N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, with no direct hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between cations.

Project description:The title compound, C10H10N4 2+·NO3 -·ClO4 -, was obtained unexpectedly by the reaction of Co(ClO4)2·6H2O and cytidine-5'-monophosphate with 4,4'-azo-pyridine in an aqueous solution of nitric acid. The mol-ecular structure comprises two planar 4,4'-diazenediyldipyridinium dications lying on inversion centres and perchlorate and nitrate anions in general positions. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between dications and anions lead to the formation of [232] chains.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(2)(C(6)H(8)O(4)S)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2), which was crystallized from an aqueous solution, features two Mn(II) atoms in the asymmetric unit, each being coordinated by four N-atom donors from 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two O atoms of two different 3,3'-sulfanediyldipropionate (L) ligands, with the O atoms in cis positions. The two carboxyl-ate groups of each L ligand, which adopt a syn-anti coordination mode, combine with four Mn(II) atoms, yielding one-dimensional chains extending along [010].

Project description:In the title salt, C(10)H(11)N(3) (2+)·2C(8)H(5)O(4) (-), doubly protonated 4,4'-dipyridylamine (dpa) cations participate in N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding with two hydrogen phthalate anions to form a neutral unit. Both anions contain an intramolecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, these units form two-dimensional layers through π-π stacking inter-actions with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.763 (3) Å. In turn, these layers aggregate in three dimensions by additional N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. The assignment to the noncentrosymmetric space group P1 is corroborated by chemically unreasonable aromatic ring bond distances and poor K scale factor distributions for a disordered model in the centrosymmetric P space group.

In the dication, the two pyridine rings adopt an anti conformation with respect to each other; the angle between these two rings is 3.84 (19)°. In the crystal structure, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions lead to the formation of layers arranged parallel to the ab plane. I⋯O halogen bonds [R(2) (2)(4) graph-set motif] range between 2.873 (2) and 3.036 (3) Å and connect neighbouring IO(3) (-) anions with each other along [100], so as to create a three-dimensional network.
