ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C(14)H(18)N(6)O(2))·[PtCl(4)], the cation and square-planar anion are located on special positions (on a twofold axis and an inversion centre, respectively). In the crystal structure, N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds lead to a staircase-like motif. The central ethane backbone of the cation is disordered over two positions of equal occupancy.

Project description:The title square-planar nickel complex, [Ni(C(20)H(22)N(2)O(6))], has Ni-N and Ni-O bond lengths of 1.8448 (14)/1.8478 (14) and 1.8536 (12)/1.8520 (12) Å. There is a slight twist in the two benzene rings at each end of the complex [dihedral angle = 11.11 (5)°]. All the atoms of the meth-oxy substitutents are in the plane of the ring to which they are attached except for one which deviates slightly [0.365 (3) Å]. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O inter-molecular inter-actions connect the mol-ecules.

Project description:In the title square-planar copper complex, [Cu(C(20)H(22)N(2)O(6))], the Cu-N and Cu-O bond lengths are significantly longer than those of its isostructural nickel analog. The title structure is related to that of the corresponding monohydrate. There are significant differences in the conformations of the two complexes. While the monohydrate is mainly planar, in the title compound there is a slight twist in the two benzene rings at each end of the complex [dihedral angle = 13.14 (6)°]. All the atoms of the meth-oxy substitutents are in the plane of the ring to which they are attached (r.m.s. deviation = 0.0079 Å) except for one of the meth-oxy C atoms, which deviates slightly [0.309 (4) Å]. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O inter-molecular inter-actions link the mol-ecules.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound [Zn(8)(C(16)H(12)N(2)O(4))(4)(H(2)O)(4)]·6C(3)H(7)NO, consists of eight Zn(II) cations, four tetra-valent anionic ligands, L(4-) (L(4-) = 3,3'-(1E,1'E)-(ethane-1,2-diylbis(azan-1-yl-1-yl-idene))bis-(methan-1-yl-1-yl-idene)dibenzene-1,2-bis-(olate), four coordinated water mol-ecules and six N,N-dimethyl-formamide solvate mol-ecules. The coordination complex comprises an octa-nuclear Zn(II) unit with its Zn(II) centers coordinated in two discrete distorted square-pyramidal geometries. Four Zn(II) atoms each coordinate to two nitro-gen atoms and two phenolate oxygen atoms from an individual L(4-) ligand and one coordinated water mol-ecule. The other four Zn(II) atoms each bind to five phenolate oxygen atoms from three different L(4-) ligands. In the crystal structure, the Zn(II) complex unit, coordinated water mol-ecules and dimethyl-formamide solvate mol-ecules are linked via O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Mol-ecules are connected by additional inter-molecular O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming an extensive three dimensional framework.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C12H16N3O)2[PdCl4]3, consists of a 4,4'-(1-aza-niumyl-2-hy-droxy-ethane-1,2-di-yl)dipyridinium dication and one and a half tetra-chloridopalladate(II) anions; the latter has inversion symmetry. In the cation, the pyridinium rings attached to the central 1-aza-niumyl-2-hy-droxy-ethane fragment show an anti conformation, as indicated by the central C-C-C-C torsion angle of -178.1 (4)°, and they are inclined to one another by 25.7 (2)°. In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked through N-H⋯Cl and O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. There are also π-π contacts [centroid-centroid distance = 3.788 (3) Å] and a number of C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl inter-actions are present, consolidating the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The trinuclear title compound, [Co(3)(CH(3)COO)(4)(C(20)H(22)N(2)O(6))(2)]·2CH(2)Cl(2), contains mixed-valence cobalt ions in the following order Co(III)-Co(II)-Co(III) where all the three cobalt ions are hexa-coordinated. The central cobalt ion is situated on an inversion centre and is in an all-oxygen environment, coordinated by four phenolate O atoms and two O atoms from bridging acetate groups, while the terminal cobalt ion is hexa-coordinated by two phenolate O atoms, two acetate O atoms and two imine N atoms. This complex contains a high-spin central Co(II) and two terminal low-spin Co(III)i.e. Co(III)(S = 0)-Co(II)(S = 3/2)-Co(III)(S = 0). There are weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the meth-oxy groups, as well as inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the acetate anions. In addition, the dichoromethane solvate mol-ecules are held in place by weak C-H⋯Cl inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, (C(2)H(10)N(2))[Ni(C(16)H(14)N(2)O(2))](4)(ClO(4))(2)·C(3)H(7)NO, crystallizes with four Ni(salen) mol-ecules {salen is 2,2'-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(nitrilo-methyl-idyne)]diphenolate}, one ethyl-enediammonium cation (actually two half-cations, each located on a center of inversion), two perchlorate anions and one dimethyl-formamide solvent mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. Each Ni(II) cation in the Ni(salen) complex is four-coordinated by two imine N atoms and two phenolate O atoms from the tetra-dentate ligand. The Ni(salen) units form parallel slipped stacks with Ni⋯Ni separations of 3.4541 (4) and 3.6442 (6) Å. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds between the ammonium H atoms and the perchlorate and salen O atoms, which generate a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C(4)H(12)O(4)P(2), there are two crystallographically independent half-mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, both molecules lying on centres of symmetry. Each mol-ecule is connected on both sides to neighbouring mol-ecules via strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The -POOH groups accept and donate one hydrogen bond in interactions with the neighbouring -POOH group of the adjacent mol-ecule, to give one-dimensional chains along [10]. As each phosphinic acid group donates and accepts one hydrogen bond, the connection between the mol-ecules is best described by a ring motif which can be classified by the Etter symbol R(2) (2)(8).

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, (C(12)H(14)N(2))[Cr(2)O(7)], the two pyridinium moieties are in an anti orientation with respect to one another. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 6.3 (2)°. The N-C-C-N torsion angle is 177.5 (2)°. In the dianion, the Cr(VI) ions are in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment and the bond angles at the independent Cr(VI) ions are in the ranges 105.93 (10)-110.60 (11) and 107.35 (11)-111.07 (12)°. The Cr-O-Cr angle is 127.96 (12)°. The crystal used was an inversion twin with refined components of 0.510 (19) and 0.490 (19).
