ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(14)H(20)O(9), the six-membered pyran and the five-membered dioxalane rings adopt chair and twisted conformations, respectively. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C30H33BrO6, the pyran-ose ring adopts a chair conformation. Two of the O-benzyl phenyl rings lie almost perpendicular to C/C/C/O plane formed by the ring atoms not attached to these O-benzyl phenyl rings, and form dihedral angles of 85.1?(2) and 64.6?(2)°, while the third O-benzyl phenyl ring is twisted so that it makes a dihedral angle 34.9?(2)° to this C/C/C/O plane. This twist is ascribed to the formation of an S(8) loop stabilized by a weak intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond.

Project description:The title compound, C(11)H(16)O(7), was obtained from the breakage reaction of the glycosidic bond of 5'-de-oxy-2',3'-diacetyl-inosine. The ribofuran-ose ring has a C2-exo, C3-endo twist configuration. No alteration of the relative configuration compared with d-(-)-ribose is observed.

Project description:The title compound, C14H18F3NO8, was produced through conjugation of 1,3,4-tri-O-acetyl-2-azidode-oxy-α,β-l-fucose with tri-fluoro-acetyl chloride in the presence of bis-(di-phenyl-phosphino)ethane in tetra-hydro-furan at room temperature. The X-ray crystal structure reveals that the β-anomer of the product mixture crystallizes from ethyl acetate/hexa-nes. The compound exists in a typical chair conformation with the maximum possible number of substituents, four out of five, located in the sterically preferred equatorial positions. The major directional force facilitating packing of the mol-ecules are N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the amide moieties of neighboring mol-ecules, which connect mol-ecules stacked along the a-axis direction into infinite strands with a C (1) 1(4) graph-set motif. Formation of the strands is assisted by a number of weaker C-H⋯O inter-actions involving the methine and methyl H atoms. These strands are connected through further C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F inter-actions into a three dimensional network.

The CCl(3) group has an axial orientation. The furan-ose ring approximates an envelope conformation due to the ?,?-unsaturated lactone functionality. The asymmetric unit contains two independent mol-ecules with almost identical geometries.

The tri-methyl-silyl group and acetamido group are located on the same side of the pyran ring, showing an ?-configuration glycoside. One of the tri-methyl-silyl groups is disordered over two orientations, with site-occupancy factors of 0.625?(9) and 0.375?(9). In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into supra-molecular chains along the a-axis direction.

The conformation of the five membered rings is as expected from the precursor compound and the mol-ecule is folded with a dihedral angle of 51.4?(2)° between the aromatic rings. One O-H?O hydrogen bond and some intra-molecular and inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions are observed in the structure.
