ABSTRACT: The Pd(II) ion in the title complex, [PdI(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], is four-coordinated in a distorted square-planar environment defined by the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two I(-) anions. The dpa ligand is not planar, the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 51.2?(2)°. In the crystal, pairs of complex mol-ecules are assembled through inter-molecular N-H?I hydrogen bonds into dimeric species. The complexes are stacked in columns along the b axis and display several inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings, with a shortest ring centroid-centroid distance of 3.957?(3)?Å.

Project description:The title complex, [Cu(SO(4))(C(10)H(9)N(3))(CH(3)OH)], is a mononuclear species with the Cu(II) ion in a Jahn-Teller-distorted '4 + 1' square-pyramidal geometry. The basal plane is defined by the pyridyl N-atom donors of the bipyridyl-amine (bpa) ligand and two O-atom donors of the sulfate ligand. The coordination geometry is completed by the axial coordination of a methanol O-atom donor. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [MnI(C(10)H(9)N(3))(2)(H(2)O)]I, contains a cationic Mn(II) complex and an I(-) anion. In the complex, the Mn(II) ion is six-coordinated in a considerably distorted cis-N(4)IO octa-hedral environment defined by four N atoms of the two chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligands, one I(-) anion and one O atom of a water ligand. As a result of the different trans effects of the I, N and O atoms, the Mn-N bond trans to the I atom is slightly longer than the Mn-N bond trans to the N or O atoms. The dpa ligands are not planar, with dihedral angles between the two pyridine rings of 26.2?(4) and 26.5?(4)°. Project description:In the title complex, [Pd(N(3))(2)(C(10)H(9)N(3))], the Pd(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment. The ligator atoms comprise the two pyridine N atoms of the chelating di-2-pyridyl-amine (dpa) ligand and two N atoms from two azide anions. The dpa ligand coordinates the Pd atom in a boat conformation, the dihedral angle between the pyridine rings being 24.4?(1)°. The pyridine rings are somewhat inclined to the least-squares plane of the PdN(4) unit, making dihedral angles of 29.02?(9) and 26.47?(9)°. The azide ligands are slightly bent, with N-N-N angles of 173.0?(4) and 174.2?(4)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?N and C-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming chains along the c axis. When viewed down the b axis, successive chains are stacked in opposite directions. Intra-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds are also observed.
