ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(8)H(17)O(2)PS(2), displays a distorted tetra-hedral geometry around the P atom. The P atom is part of a six-membered ring with an isopropyl group in the equatorial position. The mol-ecules are linked by S-H?S hydrogen bonds in the crystal packing.

Project description:The six-membered boronate ester ring of the title compound, C(13)H(16)BNO(6), adopts an envelope conformation with the C atom bearing the dimethyl substituents at the flap. The O-B-C-C torsion angles between the boronate group and the benzene ring are 72.5?(2) and 81.0?(2)°. The 4-nitro-benzoate unit adopts a slightly twisted conformation, with dihedral angles between the benzene ring and the nitrate and methyl ester groups of 17.5?(2) and 14.4?(3)°, respectively. In the crystal, inversion-related pairs of mol-ecules show weak ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 4.0585?(9)?Å and inter-planar spacing = 3.6254?(7)?Å].

The most noticeable difference between these two mol-ecules is the relative orientation of the benzo-thia-zole rings, with S-C-C-S torsion angles of -19.4 (2) (mol-ecule A) and 100.6 (1)° (mol-ecule B). The amide structure of the thia-zolidinone rings leads to inter-molecular hydrogen-bonded dimers of the R and S enanti-omers.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(12)H(12)N(2), contains two half-mol-ecules related by an inversion center, the planes of their pyridine rings being oriented at a dihedral angle of 69.62?(4)°. In the crystal structure, a ?-? contact between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.895?(3)?Å] may stabilize the structure. A weak C-H?? inter-action is also found.
