2-{[2,2-Bis(diethyl-amino)-ethan-2-ylium-thio-yl]sulfan-yl}-1,1-bis-(diethyl-amino)-ethyl-ium bis-(perchlorate).

ABSTRACT: The title salt, C(20)H(42)N(4)S(2) (2+)·2ClO(4) (-), was obtained from the reaction of bis-(diethyl-amino)-carbeniumdithio-carboxyl-ate, (Et(2)N)(2)C(2)S(2), with Fe(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O in CH(2)Cl(2). The title compound, in which one of the S atoms of (Et(2)N)(2)C(2)S(2) is bound to a 1,1-bis-(diethyl-amino)-ethane moiety, has two carbenium C atoms, and the charge compensation is provided by two perchlorate anions. The N(2)C-CS(2) bond length is 1.512?(4)?Å, corresponding to a C-C single bond, and the dihedral angle between N(2)C- and -CS(2) planes [72.0?(2)°] is smaller than that of (Et(2)N)(2)C(2)S(2) [82.0?(1)°]. The crystal structure features C-H?S hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title salt, C(16)H(18)N(6)O(2) (2+)·2ClO(4) (-)·2H(2)O, was obtained unintentionally as a major product in the reaction of Zn(ClO(4))(2)·6H(2)O with the N',N'(2)-bis-[(1E)-1-(2-pyrid-yl)ethyl-idene]ethanedihydrazide (H(2)L) ligand. The (H(4)L)(2+) cation lies across a centre of inversion. The pyridiniumimine fragments of (H(4)L)(2+) adopt syn orientations. Intra-molecular N-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds lead to the formation of S(5) motifs. In the crystal, neighbouring cations are connected by π-π inter-actions between pyridinium units with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.600 (1) Å. Moreover, the crystal components are assembled into two-dimensional layers via N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, with no direct hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between cations.

The 2-bppt ligand chelates two four-coordinated Ag(I) atoms through its two bipyridine-like arms. The O atoms of the perchlorate anion are disordered each over two positions of equal occupancy. Adjacent complex mol-ecules are linked by ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine and pyrimidine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.663?(8)?Å].

Project description:The title complex, [CuII(ClO4)(mesoPYBP)](ClO4) {PYBP = 1,1'-bis-[(pyridin-2-yl)meth-yl]-2,2'-bipiperidyl, C22H30N4}, was prepared and found to crystallize with two crystallographically independent complex salt moieties. The metal atoms of the cations adopt a pseudo-square-pyramidal coordination geometry, where the tetra-dentate amino-pyridine ligands (PYBP) are wrapped around the Cu atoms in the equatorial plane. The Cu-O bonds involving an O atom of the coordinating perchlorate anion are approximately perpendicular to the plane. The two remaining non-coordinating perchlorate anions are involved in several C-H?O hydrogen bonds with the PYBP ligand and balance the total charge of the complex salt. The two crystallographically independent moieties are related to each other via a pseudo-translation along the a-axis direction. Exact translational symmetry is broken by (i) a difference in the conformation of one of the piperidine rings, featuring a chair conformation in one of the cations, and a sterically disfavored boat conformation in the other; and (ii) by modulation of the non-coordinating perchlorate anions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated salt, (C10H18N8S2)2[BiCl6]NO3·2H2O, contains two independent 3-amino-1-carbamo-thioyl-5-[(2-{[(5-methyl-1H-imidazol-3-ium-4-yl)meth-yl]sulfan-yl}eth-yl)amino]-1H-1,2,4-triazol-4-ium cations, one hexa-chloridobismuthate anion, one nitrate anion and two solvent water mol-ecules. The dihedral angles between the imidazole and triazole rings in the cations are 44.7 (3) and 89.4 (3)°. The Bi(III) ion is coordinated by six chloride ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. In each cation, an intra-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bond is observed. In the crystal, N-H⋯Cl, N-H⋯S, N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯S and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect the components into a three-dimensional network. In addtion, π-π stacking inter-actions between inversion-related triazole rings are observed, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.322 (3) Å

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, [Bi(2)(C(11)H(16)N)(4)(CO(3))], consists of a symmetrically bridging carbonato group which binds two [2-Et(2)NCH(2)C(6)H(4)](2)Bi units that are crystallographically related via a twofold rotation axis bis-ecting the carbonate group. The two Bi atoms and two of the C atoms directly bonded to bis-muth are quasi-planar [deviations of 0.323 (1) and 0.330 (9)Å for the Bi and C atoms, respectively] with the carbonate group. The remaining two ligands are in a trans arrangement relative to the quasi-planar (CBi)(2)CO(3) system. The metal atom is strongly coordinated by the N atom of one pendant arm [Bi-N = 2.739 (6) Å], almost trans to the O atom, while the N atom of the other pendant arm exhibits a weaker intra-molecular inter-action [Bi⋯N = 3.659 (7) Å] almost trans to a C atom. If both these intra-molecular N→Bi inter-actions per metal atom are considered, the overall coordination geometry at bis-muth becomes distorted square-pyramidal [(C,N)(2)BiO cores] and the compound can be described as a hypervalent 12-Bi-5 species. Additional quite short intra-molecular Bi⋯O inter-actions are also present [3.796 (8)-4.020 (9) Å]. Inter-molecular associations through weak η(6)⋯Bi inter-actions [Bi⋯centroid of benzene ring = 3.659 (1) Å] lead to a ribbon-like supra-molecular association.

The central benzene ring makes a dihedral angle of 77.19 (9)° with each of the imidazole rings. In the crystal, C-H⋯F inter-actions link the cations and anions into layers lying parallel to the bc plane. The hexa-fluoro-phosphate anion is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.520 (11):0.480 (11) ratio.

These construct one-dimensional supra-molecular ribbons by N-H?N hydrogen bonding, and further aggregate via ?-? inter-actions [shortest C?C contact = 3.640?(1)?Å] and perchlorate-mediated C-H?O inter-actions.
