ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(18)H(22)N(2)O, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the pyridine ring is 80.0?(1)°. In the crystal, N-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into chains along the b axis. The packing also features C-H?O and C-H?N hydrogen bonds and C-H?? interactions, one directed to the benzene ring and the other to the center of the pyridine ring.

Project description:The title compound, C30H39N3·0.5C7H8, is a symmetrically N,N'-disubstituted aryl-amidine containing a 4-pyridyl substituent on the carbon atom of the N-C-N linkage and bulky 2,6-diiso-propyl-phenyl groups on the nitro-gen atoms. It crystallizes in the Z-anti configuration and its amidine C-N bonds present amine [1.368 (1) Å] and imine [1.286 (1) Å] features. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonds are present in the structure together with inter-molecular N-H⋯N and C-H⋯N inter-actions linking the mol-ecules in chains along the a- and c-axis directions.

Project description:The title compound, 2C(21)H(19)N(3)O(2)·H(2)O, was synthesized by a Schiff base condensation of 2,6-diformyl-pyridine with 2-amino-4-methyl-phenol in ethanol. In the crystal, two mol-ecules of 2,6-bis-[(2-hy-droxy-5-methyl-phen-yl)imino-meth-yl]pyridine dimer-ize via hydrogen bonding to a water mol-ecule, which lies on a twofold axis. There are also intra-molecular phenol-imine hydrogen bonds. The dimers are further linked via π-π (phen-yl-pyridine) [centroid-centroid distance = 3.707 (2) Å] and π-π edge-to-edge [3.392 (2) Å] inter-actions. The dihedral angles between the central ring and the two pendant rings are 11.46 (8) and 2.06 (8)° while the pendant rings make a dihedral angle of 10.14 (8)°.

Project description:The title compound, C(29)H(35)N(3), is the product of the condensation reaction between 2,6-diacetyl-pyridine and 2,6-diethyl-aniline. In the mol-ecule, the pyridyl ring is coplanar with the imino functional groups [torsion angles in the range 177.1 (2)-179.9 (2)°. The two 2,6-diethyl-substituted benzene rings are approximately perpendicular to the ethyl-idenepyridine central core, the dihedral angles being 88.7 (1) and 88.4 (1)°, respectively.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the pyridine derivative, C19H15N3O4·C3H7NO, shows almost planar geometry with dihedral angles of 6.9 (1) and 13.4 (1)° between the pyridine ring and the two benzene rings. This conformation is stabilized by two intra-molecular N-H⋯N(pyridine) bonds. In the crystal, strong O-H⋯O(carboxamide) and N-H⋯O(hy-droxy-phen-yl) hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules, forming a three-dimensional structure. The di-methyl-formamide solvent mol-ecules are not involved in the hydrogen bonding. The structure shows pseudosymmetry, but refinement in the space group Pbcn leads to significantly worse results and a disordered di-methyl-formamide mol-ecule.

Project description:The title compound, C(15)H(25)N(5), is an aminalization product between 2,6-diacetyl-pyridine and 1,3-diamino-propane. It crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit with different conformations. In the first mol-ecule, the methyl groups are cis oriented with respect to the pyridine ring [N-C-C-C torsion angles = 72.5?(1) and 80.3?(1)°], while they are trans oriented in the second mol-ecule [N-C-C-C torsion angles = 82.6?(1) and -90.8?(1)°]. Each of the two mol-ecules forms centrosymmetric dimers held together by N-H?N hydrogen bonds, thus forming R(2) (2)(16) rings. The two dimers are inter-linked by additional N-H?N bonds into R(4) (4)(14) rings, building chains along the a axis. These patterns influence the orientation (either equatorial or axial) of the N-H bonds.

The dihedral angle between the pyridine ring and benzene ring of both arms is 84.55 (6)° while the benzene rings make a dihedral angle of 46.07 (7)°. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯π inter-actions link the molecules sheets parallel to the ac plane.
