Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(16)N(2)O(5)S, crystallized in the chiral monoclinic space group P2(1), with two enanti-omeric mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. It is composed of a methyl-imidazolidine-2,4-dione unit substituted with a phenyl group and a 4-methoxy-phenyl-sulfonyl group. The benzene ring mean planes are inclined to one another by 22.20?(14)° in mol-ecule A and by 15.82?(13)° in mol-ecule B. In the crystal structure, the A and B mol-ecules are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming centrosymmetric dimers. A number of C-H?O inter-actions are also present in the crystal structure, leading to the formation of a three-dimensinoal network.

The adamantane cage consists of three fused cyclo-hexane rings in classical chair conformations, with C-C-C angles in the range 107.85?(15)-111.35?(15)°. Enanti-omers are linked alternately into chains along the c axis via short N-H?O inter-actions and further C-H?? inter-actions stabilize pairs of enanti-omers, forming a two-dimensional network.

The dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene ring and the quinazolinedione ring system is 74.1?(1)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers through R 2 (2)(8) hydrogen-bonded rings involving the amine and one carbonyl group of the quinazolinedione moiety. These dimers are extended into chains extending along the a-axis direction through expanded centrosymmetric cyclic C-H?O associations involving the second carbonyl group, giving R 2 (2)(20) and R 1 (2)(7) motifs.

In the crystal structure, A and B mol-ecules are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming centrosymmetric dimers. These dimers stack along the [110] direction and are linked by C-H⋯O and C-H⋯F inter-actions. There are also some short halide⋯halide contacts [Cl⋯F = 3.0499 (14) and 3.1224 (13) Å, and F⋯F = 3.0612 (17) Å].

Mol-ecules are packed in the crystal structure with adjacent benzene and pyrimidine rings approximately coplanar; the centroid-centroid separation is 3.863?Å and the dihedral angle between the mean planes is 0.64°, indicating the presence of weak inter-molecular face-to-face ?-? stacking inter-actions.
