Bond lengths and angles of the phosphide P atom feature a pyramidal geometry of the donor atom, which forms a single bond with the Ni(II) atom, retaining a stereochemically active lone pair.

Project description:In the title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(14)H(32)P(2))]·2C(12)H(9)N, the neutral [Ni(dppe)Cl(2)] complex [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diisopropyl-phosphan-yl)ethane] consists of a tetracoordinated Ni(2+) cation and has a crystallographic twofold axis passing through the metal atom and the mid-point of the CH(2)-CH(2) bond of the dppe ligand. The metal atom shows slight tetra-hedral distortion from an ideal square-planar coordination geometry, as reflected in the dihedral angle between NiCl(2) and NiP(2) planes of 15.32?(2)°. The 9H-carbazole ring system is essentially planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.022?Å). In the crystal packing, there are two symmetry-related 9H-carbazole mol-ecules between two adjacent Ni(II) complexes, with an angle between the carbazole mean planes of ca 77°.

Project description:In the crystal structure of title compound, [NiCl(2)(C(14)H(32)P(2))], the Ni(II) atom lies on a twofold rotation axis and shows a slightly distorted square-planar coordination geometry, with a dihedral angle of 10.01?(8)° between the cis-Cl-Ni-Cl and cis-P-Ni-P planes. There is no significant inter-molecular inter-action except very weak C-H?Cl inter-actions. The crystal studied was a racemic twin.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(C(30)H(23)O(2)P(2))I], the divalent Ni atom is coordinated by two P atoms and one C atom from the 1,3-bis-[(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)-oxy]benzene ligand; the distorted square-planar geometry is completed by an iodide ligand. The largest distortions from ideal square-planar geometry are reflected in the P-Ni-P angle of 164.20?(2)° and the P-Ni-C angles of 82.09?(6) and 82.11?(6)°. The rather short Ni-C bond length [1.890?(2)?Å] is anti-cipated in light of the much stronger trans influence of the aryl moiety compared to the iodide ligand. The P-bound phenyl rings adopt different orientations to minimize steric repulsion among themselves.

The employed ?-diimine opens up, forming a highly asymmetric ammonium that has its protons at one of the N atoms [N-C= 1.264?(4) and 1.516?(4)?Å]. One of the C=N double bonds was oxidized to C-N, which is consistent with the bond length of 1.516?(4)?Å. Meanwhile Sn(IV) was reduced to Sn(II). The (SnCl)(3) (-) anion is trigonal-pyramidal. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by C-H?Cl, N-H?Cl, N-H?N and C-H?N bonds. The crystal studied was twinned by pseudo-merohedry.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(C(11)H(19)N(2)P)(2)]PF(6), is composed of discrete [Cu(PN-iPr)(2)](+) cations [PN-iPr is 2-(diisopropyl-phosphanyl-amino)-pyridine] and PF(6) (-) anions. The Cu(I) atom is bis-chelated by two independent PN-iPr ligands. It has a distorted tetra-hedral coordination by two P atoms [Cu-P = 2.2277?(4) and 2.2257?(4)?Å] and two pyridine N atoms [Cu-N = 2.0763?(11) and 2.0845?(12)?Å]. Bond angles about Cu vary from 85.11?(3) (P-Cu-N) to 130.37?(2)° (P-Cu-P). In the crystal, N-H?F hydrogen bonds link the Cu complexes and the PF(6) (-) anions into continuous chains, which show a cross-bedded spatial arrangement. In addition, several weaker C-H?F inter-actions contribute to the coherence of the structure.

Project description:The mol-ecular structure of the title compound, trans-[Cu(C2H)Cl(C26H24P2)2], consists of an Ru(II) cation, located on an inversion centre, in an octa-hedral environment defined by two chelating phosphines, one acetyl-ide and one chloride ligand. The -C CH and the chlorine ligands are disordered over two equivalent positions (0.5 occupancy each). The coordination geometry is distorted octa-hedral, with the -C CH fragment and the Cl ligand in trans positions. The four P atoms occupy the equatorial plane of the octa-hedron and the chloride and acetyl-ide ligands the axial positions.
