Poly[tri-μ-aqua-di-aqua-μ-phosphono-formato-cobalt(II)sodium].

ABSTRACT: The title complex, [CoNa(CO5P)(H2O)5]n, was obtained by reacting sodium phosphono-formate with cobalt nitrate. The complex contains cobalt(II) and sodium ions, which are bridged by the O atoms of two aqua ligands. The Co(II) ion is octahedrally coordinated by three phosphonoformato ligands (one bi- and the other monodentate) and by two O atoms from the bridging aqua ligands. The sodium cation is hexa-coordinated by six O atoms from four bridging and two terminal aqua ligands. The complex mol-ecules are linked to give a three-dimensional structure by phosphono-formate ligands bridging Co(II) atoms and water mol-ecules establishing cobalt-sodium bridges. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding between the aqua ligands and all O atoms of the phosphono-formato ligand and neighbouring aqua ligands help to consolidate the packing.

Project description:In the title complex, [CoK(2)(C(3)H(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), the Co atom is located on a position with site symmetry 2/m, the K atom and one water mol-ecule are located on a mirror plane, and the malonate and one water mol-ecule are located on a twofold rotation axis. The K(I) atom is seven-coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from four malonate ligands and by three water O atoms, forming a distorted polyhedron. The Co(II) atom is in an almost octa-hedral environment formed by four carboxyl-ate O atoms from two malonate ligands and two water O atoms. The structure consists of layers parallel to (20[Formula: see text]) built up from edge-sharing KO(7) and CoO(6) polyhedra, which are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding including water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title one-dimensional polymeric compound, {[Co(C10H11O2)2(H2O)3]·2H2O} n , contains one CoII cation situated on a centre of inversion, one-half of a coordinating water mol-ecule, one 2,4,6-tri-methyl-benzoate (TMB) anion together with one coordinating and one non-coordinating water mol-ecule; the TMB anion acts as a monodentate ligand. In the anion, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted away from the attached benzene ring by 84.9 (2)°. The CoII atom is coordinated by two TMB anions and two water mol-ecules in the basal plane, while another water mol-ecule bridges the CoII atoms in the axial directions, forming polymeric chains running along [001]. The coordination environment for the CoII cation is a slightly distorted octa-hedron. The coordinating and bridging water mol-ecules link to the carboxyl-ate groups via intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, enclosing S(6) ring motifs, while the coordinating, bridging and non-coordinating water mol-ecules link to the carboxyl-ate groups and the coordinating water mol-ecules link to the non-coordinating water mol-ecules via O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, enclosing R22(8) and R33(8) ring motifs. Weak C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π inter-actions may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The title compound, [CoNa(4)(C(6)H(5)O(7))(2)](n), was obtained under hydro-thermal conditions as a minor product. The Co(2+) cation is located on a crystallographic inversion center and is coordinated by six O atoms from two different citrate units, forming a [Co(C(6)H(5)O(7))(2)](4-) building unit with Co-O bond lengths between 2.0578 (17) and 2.0813 (16) Å. The structure features two crystallographically independent Na(+) ions. The first Na(+) cation is five-coordinated by O atoms of five carboxylate groups from four different citrate anions. The second Na(+) cation is surrounded by six O atoms of five carboxylate groups from five different citrate anions. The carboxylate groups of the citrate are completely depronona-ted, the hydroxyl group, however, is not. It is coordinated to the Co(2+) cation, and through an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond connected to a neighboring [Co(C(6)H(5)O(7))(2)](4-) building unit. The coordination modes of the carboxyl-ate O atoms vary, with one O atom being coordinated to three different Na(+) cations, three are bridging O atoms bound to two Na(+) cations and two are connected to a Co(2+) cation and a Na(+) cation, respectively. Through these inter-connections, the basic [Co(C(6)H(5)O(7))(2)](4-) building units are linked with each other through coordination of their carboxyl-ate groups to the Na(+) cations, forming a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The reaction of lead(II) nitrate and benzoic acid in aqueous solution yields the title polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one Pb(II) ion, two benzoate ligands and one water mol-ecule. The Pb-O bond distances are in the range 2.494 (4)-2.735 (4) Å. The Pb⋯Pb distance is 4.0683 (4) Å, indicating an insignificant metal-metal inter-action. The Pb(II) atom has a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry chelated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The Pb atoms are bridged through a coordinating water mol-ecule and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from another two benzoate ligands, giving an infinite three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involved the coordinating water and carboxyl-ate O atoms enhance the stability of the supra-molecular arrangement.

One of the positions of disordered water O atom lies on a twofold axis. Two atoms of the aliphatic chain of one of the butanoate anions are disordered over two positions each.
