ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Mn(NCSe)2(C12H10N2)(CH3OH)2]·C12H10N2} n , the Mn(II) cation is coordin-ated by two terminal N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions, two methanol mol-ecules and two 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)eth-ene (bpe) ligands within a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. The Mn(II) cations are linked into chains along the c-axis direction by the bpe ligands, which are further connected by inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonding between the methanol H atoms and additional bpe mol-ecules that are not coordinated to the metal atoms. The Mn(II) cation and both crystallographically independent bpe ligands are located on centers of inversion, whereas the seleno-cyanate and methanol ligands occupy general positions.

Project description:The title compound, {[Fe(NCSe)2(C12H12N2)(H2O)2]·2C12H12N2·2H2O} n , was obtained by the reaction of iron(II) sulfate hepta-hydrate and potassium seleno-cyanate with 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane (bpa) in water. The Fe(II) cation is coordinated by two N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions, two water mol-ecules and two 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane (bpa) ligands in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. In addition, two non-coordinating bpa mol-ecules and two water mol-ecules are present. The Fe(II) cation is located on a center of inversion while the coordinating bpa ligand is located on a twofold rotation axis. The Fe(II) cations are linked by the bpa ligands into chains along the b-axis direction, which are further connected into layers perpedicular to the c axis by O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds to the non-coordin-ating bpa and the water mol-ecules. The crystal studied was twinned by pseudo-merohedry (180° rotation along c*; contribution of the minor twin component 3.7%).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Co(NCS)2(C12H10N2)2]·C12H10N2·2H2O} n , consists of two independent Co(II) cations, four distinct thio-cyanate anions, six 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethene (4-bpe) mol-ecules and four lattice water mol-ecules. The Co(II) cations are each coordinated by two N-bonded thio-cyanate anions and four 4-bpe ligands within a slightly distorted CoN6 octa-hedron. The two independent Co(II) cations are linked by the 4-bpe ligands into two distinct layers, parallel to the ac and bc planes, that inter-penetrate. From this arrangement, channels are formed in which non-coordinated 4-bpe and lattice water mol-ecules are hydrogen-bonded into chains that elongate in the c-axis direction.

The asymmetric unit consists of three crystallographically independent Co(II) cations, six thio-cyanate anions and six coordinating bpe ligands in general positions. Additionally, three non-coordin-ating bpe ligands are present in the asymmetric unit with two of them located on a center of inversion. The Co(II) cations are connected by the bpe ligands into layers parallel to the bc plane. The crystal investigated was non-merohedrically twinned, with a fractional contribution of 0.261 (2) for the minor domain.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cd2(C12H10N2)3(C6H12NOS2)4]·4C2H3N, comprises a Cd(II) atom, two di-thio-carbamate (dtc) anions, one and a half trans-1,2-dipyridin-4-yl-ethyl-ene (bpe) mol-ecules and two aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecules. The full binuclear complex is generated by the application of a centre of inversion. The dtc ligands are chelating, one bpe mol-ecule coordinates in a monodentate mode while the other is bidentate bridging. The resulting cis-N2S4 coordination geometry is based on an octa-hedron. Supra-molecular layers, sustained by hy-droxy-O-H⋯O(hy-droxy) and hy-droxy-O-H⋯N(bpe) hydrogen bonding, inter-penetrate to form a three-dimensional architecture; voids in this arrangement are occupied by the aceto-nitrile solvent mol-ecules. Additional inter-molecular inter-actions falling within the specified framework have been analysed by Hirshfeld surface analysis, including π-π inter-actions.

Project description:The crystal structures of three hydrogen-bonded co-crystals of 4-alk-oxy-benzoic acid-1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane (2/1), namely, 2C9H10O3·C12H12N2, (I), 2C10H12O3·C12H12N2, (II), and 2C11H14O3·C12H12N2, (III), have been determined at 93, 290 and 93 K, respectively. In (I), the asymmetric unit consists of one 4-eth-oxy-benzoic acid mol-ecule and one half-mol-ecule of 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane, which lies on an inversion centre. In (II) and (III), the asymmetric units each comprise two crystallographically independent 4-alk-oxy-benzoic acid mol-ecules and one 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)ethane mol-ecule. In each crystal, the two components are linked by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a linear hydrogen-bonded 2:1unit of the acid and the base. Similar to the structure of 2:1 unit of (I), the units of (II) and (III) adopt nearly pseudo-inversion symmetry. The 2:1 units of (I), (II) and (III) are linked via C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming tape structures.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Cu(C10H8N4)3(H2O)2](ClO4)2} n , the coordination environment of the cationic Cu(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, formed by pairs of symmetry-equivalent 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands, bridging 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene ligands and two non-equivalent water mol-ecules. The 1,2-bis-(pyridin-4-yl)diazene mol-ecules form polymeric chains parallel to [-101] via azo bonds which are situated about inversion centres. Since the Cu(II) atom is situated on a twofold rotation axis, the monomeric unit has point symmetry 2. The perchlorate anions are disordered in a 0.536 (9):0.464 (9) ratio and are acceptors of water H atoms in medium-strong O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with graph set R 4 (4)(12). The water mol-ecules, which are coordinated to the Cu(II) atom and are hydrogen-bonded to the perchlorate anions, form columns parallel to [010]. A π-π inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.913 (2) Å] occurs between pyridine rings, and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions also occur.

The Zn(II) atom is coordinated by two N-atoms of two pyridazine ligands and two terminal N-bonded seleno-cyanate anions within a slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment. In the crystal, discrete complex mol-ecules are arranged in layers parallel to the ac plane, with Zn(II)?Zn(II) distances of 8.0906?(6)?Å along the a axis and of 9.0490?(7) or 9.3604?(7)?Å along the c axis. The complex mol-ecules are further linked via weak Se?Se inter-actions, with Se?Se distances of 3.8235?(9)?Å.

Project description:In the title compound, C24H20N6O, the pyridin-3-yl groups on the ethyl-ene fragment are found in a trans conformation with a C(py)-C(e)-C(e)-C(py) (py = pyridine, e = ethylene) torsion angle of 179.2?(3)°. The dihedral angle between the pyridine rings is 3.5?(1)°. In the crystal, N-H?N and C-H?O=C inter-actions form a layer arrangement parallel to the bc plane. The compound displays disorder of the ethyl-ene fragment over two positions with an occupancy ratio of 0.676?(7) to 0.324?(7) that extends into the amide section of the nicotinamide moiety.
