In human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-infected individuals, higher levels of anti-cytomegalovirus (CMV) immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibody have been associated with increased immune activation, increased HIV transmission, cardiovascular complications, and neurocognitive impairment.
