Bis(2-meth-oxy-benzyl-ammonium) di-aqua-bis-(di-hydrogen diphosphato-?(2) O,O')manganate(II) dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C8H12NO)2[Mn(H2P2O7)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, consists of half an Mn(II) complex anion, a 2-meth-oxy-benyl-ammonium cation and a solvent water mol-ecule. The Mn(II) complex anion lies across an inversion center, and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment for the Mn(II) ion, formed by two bidentate dihydrogendiphosphate ligands and two water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the components are linked by O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (100). An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond is also observed.

Project description:The title compound, (C8H12NO)2[Co(H2P2O7)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, crystallizes isotypically with its Mn(II) analogue. It consists of alternating layers of organic cations and inorganic complex anions, extending parallel to (100). The complex cobaltate(II) anion exhibits -1 symmetry. Its Co(2+) atom has an octa-hedral coordination sphere, defined by two water mol-ecules in apical positions and two H2P2O7 (2-) ligands in equatorial positions. The cohesion between inorganic and organic layers is accomplished by a set of O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the organic cation, the inorganic anion and the remaining lattice water mol-ecules.

In the crystal, infinite ribbons of H(2)P(2)O(7) (2-) anions propagate in [100], being linked by strong O-H?O hydrogen bonds. The 4-meth-oxy-benzyl-ammonium cations bond to the diphosphate chains by N-H?O and C-H?O links, and are themselves linked by C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:The title salt, (C2H8N)2[Co(H2O)6)](SO4)2·2H2O, is isotypic with (C2H8N)2[Ni(H2O)6)](SO4)2·2H2O. The Co-O bond lengths in the [Co(H2O)6](2+) complex cation show very similar distances as in the related Tutton salt (NH4)2[Co(H2O)6)](SO4)2 [average 2.093 (17) Å], but are significantly longer than in the isotypic Ni(II) compound (Δd ≃ 0.04 Å). The cobalt cation reaches an overall bond-valence sum of 1.97 valence units. The S-O distances are nearly equal, ranging from 1.454 (4) to 1.470 (3) Å [mean 1.465 (12) Å]; however, the O-S-O angles vary clearly from 108.1 (2) to 110.2 (2)° [average bond angle 109.5 (9)°]. The non-coordinating water mol-ecules and di-methyl-ammonium cations connect the sulfate tetrahedra and the [Co(H2O)6](2+) octa-hedron via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds of weak up to medium strength into a three-dimensional framework whereby the complex metal cations and sulfate anions are arranged in sheets parallel to (001).

Project description:The structure of the title non-centrosymmetric organic-inorganic hybrid salt, (C8H12NO)2[ZnCl4], consists of two 4-meth-oxy-benzyl-ammonium cations sandwiched between anionic layers, formed by isolated tetra-chlorido-zincate tetra-hedra. The double layers extend parallel to the ac plane. The crystal packing is assured by Coulombic inter-actions and by a complex N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding system mostly involving the positively charged ammonium groups and the chloride ligands of the isolated tetra-hedral [ZnCl4](2-) units. One of the methyl-ene-ammonium groups is disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.48 (2):0.52 (2) ratio. The crystal investigated was twinned by non-merohedry with a twin component ratio of 0.738 (2):0.262 (2).

Project description:The title compound, (C16H36N)2[MnCl4]·2CH2Cl2, is an ionic organic-inorganic hybride compound consisting of a tetra-butyl-ammonium cation and a tetra-chlorido-manganate(II) anion in a 2:1 stoichiometric ratio. The cation contains a central nitro-gen atom bonded to four n-butyl groups in a tetra-hedral arrangement, while the anion contains a central MnII atom tetra-hedrally coordinated by four chlorido ligands. Project description:In the title salt, [(CH3)2NH2][Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4], one type of cation and anion is present in the asymmetric unit. The Cu(II) atom in the complex anion, [Cu(HSO4)(SO4)(H2O)4](-), has a tetra-gonal bipyramidal [4 + 2] coordination caused by a Jahn-Teller distortion, with the aqua ligands in equatorial and two O atoms of tetra-hedral HSO4 and SO4 units in apical positions. Both types of ions form sheets parallel to (010). The inter-connection within and between the sheets is reinforced by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, respectively, involving the water mol-ecules, the two types of sulfate anions and the ammonium groups.
