In the title compound, C11H9NO2Se, the pyridine and phenyl rings are almost perpendicular, with the dihedral angle between their mean planes being 79.16 (7)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules pack so as to form ruffled sheets in the (110) plane connected by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions.
