Bis(?2-iso-propyl-imido-?(2) N:N)bis-[(?(5)-cyclo-penta-dien-yl)(ethenolato-?O)titanium(IV)].

ABSTRACT: The title dinuclear half-sandwich complex, [CpTi(OCH=CH2)(?2-N-iPr)]2 (Cp = cyclo-penta-dien-yl; iPr = isopropyl), was ob-tained from the reaction of Cp2TiCl2, n-butyl-lithium and iso-propyl-amine in tetra-hydro-furan. Each Ti(IV) atom is coordinated by one Cp ligand, one vin-yloxy unit and two bridging imido groups in a strongly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. There are two half mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, such that whole mol-ecules being generated by inversion symmetry.

Project description:The title compound, [Zr(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(4)H(9)N)(C(5)H(5)N)], was obtained from the reaction of (C(5)H(5))(2)Zr(py)(η(2)-Me(3)SiC(2)SiMe(3)) (py is pyridine) and (t)BuN=C=N(t)Bu alongside the formation of (C(5)H(5))(2)Zr(CN(t)Bu)(η(2)-Me(3)SiC(2)SiMe(3)). The zirconium atom is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two cyclo-penta-dienyl ligands, a pyridine ligand, and a tert-butyl-imido ligand via a Zr=N double bond. The tert-butyl group is disordered over two positions in a 0.634 (5):0.366 (5) ratio.

Project description:The chemically achiral title mol-ecule, [Ti(C(4)H(10)N)(2)(C(21)H(16)N(2))], crystallizes in the chiral space group P2(1). All three N atoms coordinating to the Ti(IV) atom adopt planar environments [sums of valence angles = 359.5?(6), 360.0?(7) and 360.0?(6)°], which is indicative of p?-d? donation from all of these N atoms to the metal and, thus, of the formal 18?e(-) nature of the complex. The overall coordination about the Ti(IV) atom is distorted tetra-hedral, assuming the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring occupies one coordination site. The Ti-N(imidazole) amide-type bond is longer by approximately 0.16?Å than the other two Ti-N(amide) bonds.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, [ZrBr(2)(C(12)H(14)Si)], possesses a crystallographically imposed twofold rotational symmetry with the rotation axis passing through the Zr and Si atoms. The Zr(IV) centre is in a distorted tetra-hedral environment defined by two Cp rings of chelating organic ligands and two Br anions. Two five-membered rings form a dihedral angle of 59.7 (2)°. Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Zr(C(5)H(5))(2)(C(9)H(11)Te)(2)], consists of a zirconium(IV) centre bonded to two ?(5)-coord-inated cyclo-penta-dienyl groups and two mesityltellurolate ligands; the discrete mol-ecule has crystallographic twofold rotation symmetry. The structural parameters compared with those in [(?(5)-Me(5)Cp)(2)Zr(TePh)(2)] [Howard, Trnka & Parkin (1995 ?). Inorg. Chem.34, 5900-5909] show that the greater steric demands of the bulky mesityl substituents are accommodated by widening Te-Zr-Te (?8°) and by more acute Zr-Te-C (?5°) angles, although the Zr-Te distances are essentially the same. The crystal studied exhibited some inversion twinning.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, deca-methyl-cobaltocene, [Co(C(10)H(15))(2)], has been determined. High-quality single crystals were grown from a cold saturated hexa-methyl-disiloxane solution. The structure is related to the manganese and iron analogs. The molecule has D(5d) symmetry, with the Co atom in a crystallographic 2/m position. The cobalt-centroid(C(5)) distance is 1.71Å and the centroid(C(5))-Co-centroid(C(5)) angle is 180°, by symmetry.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Hf(C10H15)2(C4H9)2], reveals two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The diffraction experiment was performed with a racemically twinned crystal showing a 0.529?(5):0.471?(5) component ratio. Each Hf(IV) atom is coordinated by two penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dienyl and two n-butyl ligands in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry, with the cyclo-penta-dienyl rings inclined to one another by 45.11?(15) and 45.37?(16)°. In contrast to the isostructural di(n-butyl)bis(? (5)-penta-methyl-cyclo-penta-dien-yl)zirconium(IV) complex with a noticeable difference in the Zr-butyl bonding, the Hf-Cbut-yl bond lengths differ from each other by no more than 0.039?(3)?Å.
