ABSTRACT: The cation of the title salt, C4H14N2 (2+)·2Cl(-), is located on a crystallographic inversion center and is bis-ected by a mirror plane, with one quarter of the C4H14N2 (2+)·2Cl(-) formula unit being crystallographically unique. he chloride ions also sit on a mirror plane. The conformation of the cation is a regular straight-chain conformation with all non-H atoms in anti positions. In the crystal, hydrogen bonding between N-H groups and chloride anions yields a zigzag ladder-type structure along [010].

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, C12H22N2 (2+)·2Cl(-), which was obtained as a by-product in the attempted synthesis of a mercury derivative, the conformation of the N-C-C-N bond in the cation is anti [torsion angle = 175.1?(10)°]. In the crystal, the cations are linked to the anions by N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, generating ion-triplets. These are linked by numerous weak C-H?Cl inter-actions, generating a three-dimensional network. The structure was refined as an inversion twin.

Project description:The title compound, C(2)H(10)N(2) (2+)·2C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-)·2H(2)O, crystallizes with a complete picrate anion and half an ethyl-enediammonium dication on a mirror plane, and two half-water mol-ecules (both on a mirror plane) in the asymmetric unit. The N atoms from separate half ethyl-enediammonium dications are in near proximity to a phenolate O atom and two o-NO(2) groups from the picrate anion, which, along with the water mol-ecule form N-H?O, O-H?O and weak intermolecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds that create cyclic patterns with graph-set descriptors R(2) (4)(8), R(4) (4)(12), and R(4) (4)(16). The crystal packing is strongly influenced by these inter-molecular inter-actions between symmetry-related water mol-ecules, the half ethyl-enediammonium dication and the picrate anion, forming a three-dimensional supermolecular structure.

Disordered structure of propane-1,2-diaminium dichloride.

Project description:In the title compound, C(3)H(12)N(2) (2+)·2Cl(-), the cations are disordered over two well resolved positions in a 0.525?(13):0.475?(13) ratio. The disorder involves two C atoms which assume positions that make an almost mirror-sym-metrical system. Similar disorder is observed both at room temperature and at 120?(1)?K. The conformation of the NCCN chain in both components is close to trans (the torsion angles ca ±170°), while that of CCCN chain is close to gauche (±50°). In the crystal, a network of relatively strong N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds connects the cations and anions into one-cation-deep layers parallel to (001); there are R(2) (4)(8) and R(2) (4)(11) ring motifs within the plane. The planes are only loosely connected by van der Waals contacts and electrostatic inter-actions between cations and anions.

Project description:In the structure of the title compound, C(2)H(10)N(2) (2+)·C(8)H(2)Cl(2)O(4) (2-), the dications and dianions form hydrogen-bonded ribbon substructures which enclose conjoint cyclic R(2) (1)(7), R(1) (2)(7) and R(4) (2)(8) associations and extend down the c-axis direction. These ribbons inter-associate down b, giving a two-dimensional sheet structure. In the dianions, one of the carboxyl-ate groups is essentially coplanar with the benzene ring, while the other is normal to it [C-C-C-O torsion angles = 177.67?(12) and 81.94?(17)°, respectively].

Project description:In the title salt, C16H24N4 (2+)·2NO3 (-), both the cation and anion are placed in general positions, although the cation displays non-crystallographic inversion symmetry, with the aliphatic chain extended in an all-trans conformation. The benzene rings are almost parallel, with a dihedral angle between their mean planes of 3.3?(6)°. The nitrate ions are placed in the vicinity of the protonated amine groups, forming efficient N-H?O inter-ion hydrogen bonds. Each nitrate ion in the asymmetric unit bridges two symmetry-related cations, forming an R 4 (4)(18) ring, a common motif in organic ammonium nitrate salts. This results in the formation of chains along [010] with alternating cations and anions. The neutral amine groups are involved in slightly weaker N-H?O hydrogen bonds with the nitrate O atoms, and there are also a number of C-H?O hydrogen bonds present. The resulting supra-molecular structure is based on a two-dimensional network extending in the ab plane.
