ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(12)H(30)N(2))[CoCl(4)], is composed of discrete (C(12)H(30)N(2))(2+) cations and [CoCl(4)](2-) anions. The asymmetric unit contains a half-cation and a half-anion. The atoms of the cation occupy general positions about an inversion centre, which is located at the midpoint of the central C-C bond. The Co atoms lie on a twofold rotation axis. The slightly distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment around the metal atom consists of two Cl atoms and their symmetry-related pairs.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, (C(4)H(10)NO)(2)[CoCl(4)], the morpholinium cations adopt chair conformations and the tetra-chloridocobaltate(II) anion is significantly distorted from regular tetra-hedral geometry [Cl-Co-Cl = 102.183 (19)-117.59 (2)°]. The Co-Cl bond lengths for the chloride ions not accepting hydrogen bonds are significantly shorter than those for the chloride ions accepting such bonds. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl and bifurcated N-H⋯(O,Cl) hydrogen bonds to generate (100) sheets.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(16)N)(2)[CoCl(4)], is comprised of a tetrahedral [CoCl(4)](2-) anion and two independent triethyl-ammonium cations. The latter are featureless while the [CoCl(4)](2-) anion exhibits typical Co-Cl bond lengths [2.2428?(15)-2.2847?(16)?Å] and a Cl-Co-Cl angular range of 107.58?(6)-112.73?(7)°. In the crystal, N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds between the two crystallographically independent cations and the [CoCl(4)](2-) anion generate discrete ion triplets. The two Co-Cl bonds involved in these inter-actions are slightly longer than the remaining two.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(5)H(7)N(2))(2)[CoCl(4)], the cobalt(II) ion is coordinated by four chloride ions in a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonding, forming a three-dimensional network. The crystal was a non-merohedral twin emulating tetra-gonal symmetry, but being in fact ortho-rhom-bic.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C4H7N2)2[CoCl4], consists of two 2-methyl-imidazolium cations and one tetra-hedral [CoCl4](2-) anion. Project description:The title compound, C(2)H(10)N(2) (2+)·2C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7) (-)·2H(2)O, crystallizes with a complete picrate anion and half an ethyl-enediammonium dication on a mirror plane, and two half-water mol-ecules (both on a mirror plane) in the asymmetric unit. The N atoms from separate half ethyl-enediammonium dications are in near proximity to a phenolate O atom and two o-NO(2) groups from the picrate anion, which, along with the water mol-ecule form N-H⋯O, O-H⋯O and weak intermolecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds that create cyclic patterns with graph-set descriptors R(2) (4)(8), R(4) (4)(12), and R(4) (4)(16). The crystal packing is strongly influenced by these inter-molecular inter-actions between symmetry-related water mol-ecules, the half ethyl-enediammonium dication and the picrate anion, forming a three-dimensional supermolecular structure.

Project description:The title compound, C(16)H(26)N(4) (4+)·4Cl(-), is based on a fully protonated tetra-amine. In the cation, both benzene rings are connected by an all-trans chain, and the rings are almost parallel, with an angle between the mean planes of 8.34 (12)°. The benzene rings are arranged in such a way that the NH(3) (+) substituents are oriented cis with respect to the central chain. This arrangement is a consequence of multiple N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, involving all N-H groups in the cation and the four independent Cl(-) anions. These contacts have strengths ranging from weak to strong (based on H⋯Cl separations), and generate a complex three-dimensional crystal structure with no preferential crystallographic orientation for the contacts.

The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the ethane-1,2-diaminium cations and 3,4,5,6-tetra-bromo-2-(methoxy-carbon-yl)bromo-benzoate anions, and by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the methanol solvate and both the cation and the anion. In addition, the crystal structure exhibits a C-Br⋯O halogen bond [3.20 (3) Å] and a Br⋯Br inter-action [3.560 (2) Å].
