ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C26H28O6·2CH3OH, contains two independent methyl 6-O-trityl-?-d-gluco-pyran-oside mol-ecules and four methanol solvent mol-ecules. The rings of two methyl ?-d-gluco-pyran-oside adopt chair conformations. In the crystal, extensive intra- and inter-molecular O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture.

The conformation of the title compound is described by the glycosidic torsion angles ?(H) = 55?(1)° and ?(H) = -24?(1)°. The hy-droxy-methyl group in the galactose residue is present in the gauche-trans conformation. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the disaccharide units into chains along the a-axis direction and further hydrogen bonds cross-link the chains.

Project description:The title compound, C13H24O9·H2O, a structural model for part of bacterial O-anti-gen polysaccharides from Shigella flexneri and Escherichia coli, crystallizes with four independent disaccharide mol-ecules and four water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The conformation at the glycosidic linkage joining the two rhamnosyl residues is described by the torsion angles φH of 39, 30, 37 and 37°, and ψH of -32, -35, -31 and -32°, which are the major conformation region known to be populated in an aqueous solution. The hexo-pyran-ose rings have the 1 C 4 chair conformation. In the crystal, the disaccharide and water mol-ecules are associated through O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a layer parallel to the bc plane. The layers stack along the a axis via hydro-phobic inter-actions between the methyl groups.

Project description:The title compound, C20H47NO6Si4, was synthesized by per-O-tri-methyl-silylation of N-acetyl-d-glucosa-mine using chloro-tri-methyl-silane in the presence of hexa-methyl-disiloxane. The tri-methyl-silyl group and acetamido group are located on the same side of the pyran ring, showing an ?-configuration glycoside. One of the tri-methyl-silyl groups is disordered over two orientations, with site-occupancy factors of 0.625?(9) and 0.375?(9). Project description:In the centrosymmetric binuclear title compound, [Cu(2)Br(2)(C(12)H(10)N(5)S)(2)]·2CH(3)OH, the Cu(II) ion adopts a slightly dis-torted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The hydrazine carbothio-amide moiety and one of the pyridyl rings together adopt an almost planar arrangement, with a maximum deviation of 0.052?(4)?Å for the C atom of the thio-urea moiety. There are two mol-ecules of methanol solvent per complex in the asymmetric unit. The nonconventional intra-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds make the mol-ecule more rigid, whereas the conventional N-H?N and O-H?Br inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, supported with N-H?? inter-actions, establish a supra-molecular linkage among the mol-ecules in the crystal. An intermolecular C-H?O inter-action is also present.
