ABSTRACT: In the title salt, [Zn(C6H15NO3)2](C8H4O4), the Zn(II) cation, located on a centre of inversion, is coordinated by four O atoms and two N atoms from two tridentate 2-[bis-(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)amino]-ethanol (BHEA) ligands, giving rise to a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The terephthalate dianion, located about a centre of inversion, is not coordinated to Zn(II) but is connected through O-H?O contacts with [Zn(BHEA)2](2+) cations, leading to a three-dimensional crystal structure.

Project description:The mol-ecular components of the title salt, [Cu(C4H11NO2)2](C8H4O4), are one Cu(II) cation O,N,O'-chelated by two tridentate 2-[(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)amino]-ethanol ligands, and a terephthalate counter-dianion, located about a centre of inversion. The complex Cu(II) cation is located about a centre of inversion and shows typical Jahn-Teller distortion, with two short Cu-O and two short Cu-N bonds in the equatorial plane and two long Cu-O bonds to the axial atoms. The cations are arranged in sheets parallel to (100), with the centrosymmetric terephthalate anions located between the sheets. Each anion is the acceptor of four O-H?O and two N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the zinc(II) complex of bicine, [Zn(C(6)H(12)NO(4))(2)], the deprotonated amino acid O,N,O'-chelates to the metal atom through a carboxyl-ate O atom, a hy-droxy O atom and the N atom, the three atoms occupying fac positions of the distorted octa-hedron surrounding the metal atom. The metal atom lies on a center of inversion. The uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atom is hydrogen bonded to the hy-droxy groups of adjacent mol-ecules, these two hydrogen bonds leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The non-symmetric title mol-ecule, C32H34N2O5, is based on a tetra-substituted ethyl-enedi-amine backbone. The mol-ecular structure consists of three hy-droxy-benzyl groups and one 2-hy-droxy-5-methyl-benzaldehyde group bonded to the N atoms of the di-amine unit. The ethyl-enedi-amine skeleton shows a regular extended conformation, while the spatial orientation of the phenol arms is governed by hydrogen bonds. In the 2-hy-droxy-5-methyl-benzaldehyde group, an intra-molecular S(6) O-H?O hydrogen bond is observed between the alcohol and aldehyde functions, and the neighbouring phenol arm participates in an intra-molecular S(6) O-H?N hydrogen bond. The third phenol group is involved in a bifurcated intra-molecular hydrogen bond with graph-set notation S(6) for O-H?N and O-H?O intra-molecular hydrogen bonds between neighbouring amine and phenol arms, respectively. Finally, the fourth phenol group acts as an acceptor in a bifurcated intra-molecular hydrogen bond and also acts as donor in an inter-molecular hydrogen bond, which connects inversion-related mol-ecules into dimers with R 4 (4)(8) ring motifs.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C4H12NO2 (+)·C6H2N3O7 (-), contain two bis-(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)ammonium cations and two picrate anions. An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond occurs in each cation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which generate two R 2 (1)(6), an R 2 (2)(10) and an R 2 (2)(13) graph-set ring motifs. There are also a number of C-H?O hydrogen bonds present. The sum of these inter-actions leads to the formation a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C(17)H(20)N(2)O(3), the amino N atom is in a planar environment (sum of angles = 360.0°). All hy-droxy H atoms are involved in hydrogen bonding. In the crystal structure, two O-H?O and an O-H?N(imino) hydrogen bond result in the formation of a three-dimensional network. The latter hydrogen bonding causes distortion of the planarity of the 4-HO-C(6)H(4)-CH=N-C(6)H(4)- fragment by rotation around the =N-C(Ph) bond. The crystal studied was a non-merohedral twin [refined BASF parameter for the major component = 0.5293?(7)].

Project description:The title mononuclear Ni(II) complex, [Ni(C(11)H(11)N(2)O(5))(2)(C(2)H(8)N(2))(2)], is built up by inversion symmetry associated with the central Ni atom. The ethyl-enediamine ligands are non-planar. The r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane of the five-membered Ni-ethyl-amine chelate ring plane is 0.1945 Å. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules are linked to each other via N-H⋯O and O--H⋯O hydrogen bonding through translation symmetry along the b and c axes, resulting in an extended supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the 1:1 title salt, C(4)H(12)NO(2) (+)·C(6)H(4)BrO(-), hydrogen-bonding inter-actions originate from the ammonium cation, which adopts a syn conformation. A gauche relationship between the C-O and C-N bonds of the 2-hy-droxy-ethyl fragments also facilitates O-H⋯O inter-actions of bis-(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)ammonium cation chains to phenolate O atoms. The resulting double-ion chains along [100] are further linked by N-H⋯O inter-actions, forming chains parallel to [110].
