ABSTRACT: The mol-ecule of the title compound, C25H24O, obtained by acid-catalysed 1,3-migration of an alcohol group, is T-shaped. The planes of the two phenyl rings are inclined to one another by 81.9 (2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains along [001].

Project description:The title cluster compound, [Ru3(C19H17PS)(CO)11], comprises a triangle of Ru0 atoms, two of which are bonded to four carbonyl ligands. The third metal atom is bound to three carbonyl ligands and the phosphane-P atom of a dissymmetric phosphane ligand, PPh2(C6H4SMe-4); no Ru⋯S inter-actions are observed. The phosphane occupies an equatorial position and its proximity to an Ru-Ru edge results in the elongation of this bond with respect to the others [2.8933 (2) Å cf. 2.8575 (2) and 2.8594 (3) Å]. In the crystal, phenyl-C-H⋯O(carbon-yl) and carbonyl-O⋯O(carbon-yl) [2.817 (2) Å] inter-actions combine to form a supra-molecular chain propagating along [111]; the chains pack without directional inter-actions between them. The carbonyl-O⋯O(carbon-yl) and other weak contacts have an influence upon the Hirshfeld surfaces with O⋯H contacts making the greatest contribution, i.e. 37.4% cf. 15.8% for O⋯O and 15.6% for H⋯H contacts.

Project description:In the title compound, C21H26O2SSe, the S atom adopts a pyramidal geometry (bond-angle sum = 304°) and the n-butyl chain shows an extended conformation. An intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bond closes an S(8) ring. In the crystal, inversion dimers are formed with molecules linked by pairs of O-H⋯O=S hydrogen bonds, generating R 2 (2)(14) loops. Weak C-H⋯O inter-actions also occur.

Project description:Two independent mol-ecules, A and B, comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C20H21N3OSe. While the benzene ring directly bound to the central triazole ring is inclined to the same extent in both mol-ecules [dihedral angles = 40.41 (12) (mol-ecule A) and 44.14 (12)° (B)], greater differences are apparent in the dihedral angles between the Se-bound rings, i.e. 74.28 (12) (mol-ecule A) and 89.91 (11)° (B). Close intra-molecular Se⋯N inter-actions of 2.9311 (18) (mol-ecule A) and 2.9482 (18) Å (B) are noted. In the crystal, supra-molecular chains along the a axis are formed via O-H⋯N hydrogen bonding. These are connected into layers via C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N inter-actions; these stack along (01-1) without directional inter-molecular inter-actions between them.

Project description:The title compound, C17H17N3O, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The semicarbazone moieties of these independent mol-ecules (I and II) are essentially planar [maximum deviation of 0.042 (1) Å in mol-ecule I and 0.041 (1) Å in mol-ecule II], with the terminal phenyl rings twisted away from the mean plane of the semicarbazone moiety, making dihedral angles of 60.26 (8) and 28.76 (9)° in mol-ecule I and 31.07 (9) and 35.45 (8)° in mol-ecule II. The mol-ecules both exhibit an E configuration with respect to the C=C and azomethine C=N bonds. In the crystal, two classical N-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are present between the two mol-ecules, forming a centrosymmetric dimer, while a weak C-H⋯O non-classical hydrogen-bonding inter-action, with a donor-acceptor distance of 3.476 (2) Å, inter-connects two neighbouring centrosymmetric dimers to form a cage-like structure. These cage structures are inter-connected by weak C-H⋯π inter-actions with an H⋯π distance of 2.790 Å, forming supra-molecular chains along the c-axis direction.

The terminal aromatic rings are almost perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle = 81.61 (9)°] giving the mol-ecule an overall U-shape. The crystal packing feature benzene-C-H⋯O(ketone) contacts that lead to supra-molecular helical chains along the b axis. These are connected by π-π inter-actions between benzene and phenyl rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.6648 (14) Å], resulting in the formation of a supra-molecular layer in the bc plane.

Project description:The title compound, C17H21NO2, was synthesized by the reaction of (1R)-(+)-3-benzyl-camphor and hydroxyl-amine. The oxazole ring makes a dihedral angle of 23.42 (16)° with the phenyl ring. The six-membered ring of the norboryl group adopts a boat conformation, whereas each of the five-membered rings of the norboryl group displays a flattened envelope conformation, with the C atom carrying the methyl groups representing the flap for both rings. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into zigzag chains propagating along the b axis by O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(21)BrO(3), comprises a seven- (C(7)) and three six-membered (1 × O(2)C(4) and 2 × C(6)) rings, and each adopts a conformation based on a chair. Stability to the mol-ecular structure is afforded by an intra-molecular O-H⋯Br hydrogen bond. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are arranged into a helical supra-molecular chain along the b axis, linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions, where the O-atom acceptor is one of the dioxane O atoms. The crystal studied was found to be a racemic twin. The major component was present 94% of the time.

Project description:In the title compound, C17H14N2O6, the conformation about the C=C double bond [1.345 (2) Å] is E, with the ketone moiety almost coplanar [C-C-C-C torsion angle = 9.5 (2)°] along with the phenyl ring [C-C-C-C = 5.9 (2)°]. The aromatic rings are almost perpendicular to each other [dihedral angle = 86.66 (7)°]. The 4-nitro moiety is approximately coplanar with the benzene ring to which it is attached [O-N-C-C = 4.2 (2)°], whereas the one in the ortho position is twisted [O-N-C-C = 138.28 (13)°]. The mol-ecules associate via C-H⋯O inter-actions, involving both O atoms from the 2-nitro group, to form a helical supra-molecular chain along [010]. Nitro-nitro N⋯O inter-actions [2.8461 (19) Å] connect the chains into layers that stack along [001].
