Crystal structure of (n-but-yl)[2-(2,6-di-meth-oxy-phen-yl)-6-methyl-phen-yl](2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)phospho-nium chloride monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: The title hydrated salt, C26H32O3P(+)·Cl(-)·H2O, contains four different substit-uents (H, alkyl, aryl, and biar-yl) on the P atom. The P-H hydrogen atom of the phospho-nium ion was located in a difference Fourier map and refined without imposing additional restraints. In the crystal, the Cl(-) ions and water mol-ecules are linked by pairs of Owater-H⋯Cl(-) hydrogen bonds and further linked to the phospho-nium cation by P-H(+)⋯Cl(-) and CAr/OMe-H⋯Owater hydrogen bonds to form an infinite one-dimensional chain along the [010] direction.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title hydrated salt, C24H35N2O5 (+)·Cl(-)·2H2O, contains one organic cation that has its protonation site at the amine function, one chloride anion and two lattice water mol-ecules. In the crystal, one pair of lattice water mol-ecules and two chloride anions form a four-membered centrosymmetric hydrogen-bond cycle. In addition, O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds involving the N-H groups, the water mol-ecules and the C=O group are observed. As a result, a hydrogen-bonded layer parallel to (100) is formed. The thickness of such a layer corresponds to the length of the a axis [21.977 (3) Å].

In the crystal structure, inter-molecular C-H⋯N and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules. There is a π-π contact between the phenyl rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.702 (3) Å].

Project description:The title compound, (C(8)H(12)NO)(C(16)H(18)NO(2))[ZnCl(4)]·H(2)O, was obtained as a by-product of the Zn(2+) and HCl catalyzed condensation of (2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)methanamine in water. Both cations feature an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, the components are linked by an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H?O, O-H?Cl and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds (three of them bifurcated). Weak C-H?O intera-ctions also occur.

Project description:In the organic cation of the title compound, C(13)H(20)N(3) (+)·Cl(-)·H(2)O, the two pyrrolidine rings adopt twisted conformations. The pyridine ring makes dihedral angles of 14.57 (6) and 23.96 (6)° with the mean planes of the pyrrolidine rings. In the crystal structure, pairs of bifurcated inter-molecular O-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds link the water mol-ecules and chloride anions into an R(4) (4)(8) ring motif. Inter-molecular N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds further inter-connect these rings with the organic cations into a two-dimensional network parallel to the bc plane.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(20)H(31)NO(8), has pseudo-C2 symmetry about the C-N bond, with the bis-(tert-butoxy-carbon-yl)amino group twisted from the benzene ring plane by ca 60° and the bulky tert-butoxy-carbonyl (Boc) groups are orientated away from the substituted aniline group. As part of an anti-bacterial drug discovery programme furnishing analogues of platensimycin, we unexpectedly synthesized the bis-Boc-protected aniline.

Project description:In the title phospho-nate, C19H21O9P, the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 63.33 (3)°, and the P atom has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry, with angles in the range 101.30 (6)-120.38 (6)°. No significant inter-molecular inter-actions are observed in the crystal structure, and π-π inter-actions between symmetry-related benzene rings are beyond 4 Å.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title salt, C(8)H(12)NO(+)·Cl(-), the methoxy group of the cation is co-planar with the phenylene moiety with an r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane of only 0.005 Å. The ammonium N atom deviates from this plane by 1.403 (1) Å. In the crystal, the (4-meth-oxy-phen-yl)methan-aminium cations and chloride anions are linked by N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, resulting in an open framework architecture with hydrogen-bonded ammonium groups and chloride anions located in layers parallel to (011), separated by more hydrophobic layers with interdigitating anisole groups.
