Peroxiredoxins (PRDXs) are a ubiquitously expressed family of small (22-27 kDa) non-seleno peroxidases that catalyze the peroxide reduction of H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>, organic hydroperoxides and peroxynitrite.
