Crystal structures of N'-amino-pyridine-2-carboximidamide and N'-{[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl-idene]amino}-pyridine-2-carboximidamide.

ABSTRACT: The crystal structures of N'-amino-pyridine-2-carboximidamide (C₆H₈N₄), 1, and N'-{[1-(pyridin-2-yl)ethyl-idene]amino}-pyridine-2-carboximidamide (C₁₃H₁₃N₅), 2, are described. The non-H atoms in compound 1 are nearly planar (r.m.s. deviation from planarity = 0.0108?Å), while 2 is twisted about the central N-N bond by 17.8?(2)°. Both mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen-bonding inter-actions; 1 forms a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network and for 2 the network is a one-dimensional chain. The bond lengths of these mol-ecules are similar to those in other literature reports of azine and di-imine systems.

Project description:The title disubstituted thio-urea derivative, C10H14N4S, features an almost planar imine (E configuration, C3N) core flanked by thio-urea (CN2S) and methyl-pyridyl (C5N) residues (each plane has a r.m.s. deviation of the respective fitted atoms of 0.0066 Å). The dihedral angles between the core and the thio-urea and pyridyl residues are 20.25 (8) and 7.60 (9)°, respectively, indicating twists in the mol-ecule; the dihedral angle between the outer planes is 13.62 (7)°. There is an anti-disposition of the amine-N-H atoms which allows for the formation of an intra-molecular amine-N-H⋯N(imine) hydrogen bond that closes an S(5) loop. In the crystal, amine-N-H⋯N(pyrid-yl) hydrogen bonds lead to zigzag (glide symmetry) supra-molecular chains along the c-axis direction. These are connected into a supra-molecular layer propagating in the bc plane by thio-amide-N-H⋯S(thione) hydrogen bonds via eight-membered thio-amide {⋯HNCS}2 synthons.

Crystal structures of two platinum(II) complexes containing ethyl eugenoxyacetate and 2-amino-pyridine.

Project description:In the title complexes, trans-(2-amino-pyridine-?N)di-chlorido-{4-eth-oxy-carbonyl-meth-oxy-3-meth-oxy-1-[(2,3-?)-prop-2-en-1-yl]benzene}-platinum(II), [PtCl2(C5H6N2)(C14H18O4)], (I), and (2-amino-pyridine-?N)chlorido{5-eth-oxy-car-bon-yl-meth-oxy-4-meth-oxy-1-[(2,3-?)-prop-2-en-1-yl]phenyl-?C1}-platinum(II), [Pt(C14H17O4)Cl(C5H6N2)], (II), the central PtII metal atom displays a distorted square-planar coordination, with the PtII atom coordinated by the pyridine N atom, the C=C double bond of the eugenol ligand and two Cl atoms for (I) or one Cl atom and a C atom of the phenyl ring for (II). The allyl fragment in (I) is disordered, with population parameters 0.614?(14) and 0.386?(14) for the two positions of the central C atom. The least-squares planes through the two aromatic ring systems make a dihedral angle of 51.10?(13)° for (I) and 78.5?(2)° for (II). Intra-molecular N-H?O and N-H?? inter-actions occur in (I). In (I), inversion dimers formed by C-H?Cl inter-actions are further linked into chains parallel to the b axis by C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Both aromatic rings are involved in ?-? inter-actions, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.508?(3) and 3.791?(3)?Å. In (II), inversion dimers form chains parallel to the b axis by C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The asymetric unit of the title compound, [Fe(C5H5)(C17H13N2)], contains two independent mol-ecules whose conformations differ, especially in the 4-{(pyridin-4-yl)methyl-idene]amino}-phenyl unit where one is flipped by almost 180°. The cyclo-penta-dienyl rings of the ferrocene unit also exhibit different staggered conformations: in one mol-ecule the conformation is staggered by 9.43?(2)° and in the other by 24.46?(1)° from an ideal eclipsed geometry. The plane of the benzene ring is tilted away from the ferrocene group in both mol-ecules, with dihedral angles of 6.97?(1) and 10.30?(2)°. The benzene ring is also slightly twisted from the plane of the pyridine ring, with dihedral angles of 5.98?(2) and 6.51?(2)° in the two mol-ecules.

The phenyl rings are inclined to one another by 52.87?(8)° in (I) and by 60.51?(14)° in (II). The main difference in the conformation of the two compounds is the angle of inclination of the phen-oxy-carbonyl ring to the piperidine ring mean plane. In (I), these two planes are almost coplanar, with a dihedral angle of 2.05?(8)°, while in (II), this angle is 45.24?(13)°. In the crystal of (I), mol-ecules are linked by C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming inversion dimers with R 2 (2)(14) loops. The dimers are linked via C-H?? inter-actions forming a three-dimensional network. In the crystal of (II), there are no significant inter-molecular inter-actions present.
