This work describes a facile yet powerful approach to energy-transfer NMOF (nanoscale metal-organic framework) fabrication for ratiometric peroxynitrite (ONOO<sup>-</sup>) sensing. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) is chosen to organize the energy donor (NMOF) and acceptor (molecular probes).
