The oligomerization and fibrillation of human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP) play a central role in the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes. Strategies for remodelling the formation of hIAPP oligomers and fibrils have promising application potential in type 2 diabetes therapy.
