Crystal structure of aqua-(2-{[2-({2-[bis-(carboxyl-ato-κO-meth-yl)amino-κN]eth-yl}(carboxyl-ato-κO-meth-yl)amino-κN)eth-yl](carb-oxy-meth-yl)aza-niumyl}acetato)-gallium(III) trihydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title GaIII complex compound with pentetic acid, [Ga(C14H20N3O10)(H2O)]·3H2O, the GaIII centre is bound in a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere by two amine N atoms, three carboxyl-ate O atoms and one water O atom. The complex mol-ecule exists as a zwitterion. In the crystal, the complexes are linked to each other via O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming layers parallel to (001). Three uncoordinating water mol-ecules link the complex layers via O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title dinuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(14)H(20)ClN(4)O)ClO]·3H(2)O, one Cu(II) cation assumes a distorted square-planar coordination geometry and the other a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The Mn(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two O atoms from two 5-carboxyl-ato-1-carboxyl-atomethyl-2-oxidopyridinium ligands and two water mol-ecules, leading to a distorted octahedral MnN(2)O(4) environment. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link neighbouring mol-ecules into a layer structure parallel to (001).

Project description:The structure of the binuclear title complex, [U(2)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(4)O(4)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, is composed of centrosymmetric dimers in which each UO(2) (2+) ion is coordinated by two ligand mol-ecules. One donates its N,O-bonding group and the other donates both carboxyl-ate O atoms. Each of the latter bridges adjacent uranyl ions. The coordination environment of the metal center is a distorted penta-gonal bipyramid. The dimers are inter-connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate O atoms. An intra-molecular O-H⋯N inter-action is also present.

Project description:The Cu(II) atom in the title compound, [CuCl2(C14H21F3N4)], adopts a coordination geometry that is between distorted square-based pyramidal and very Jahn-Teller-elongated octa-hedral. It is coordinated by three N atoms from the bis-(2-amino-eth-yl)(2-{[4-(tri-fluoro-meth-yl)benzyl-idene]amino}-eth-yl)amine and two chloride ligands. The two crystallographically unique copper complexes present in the asymmetric unit exhibit noticeable differences in the coordination bond lengths. Considering the Cu(II) atoms as having square-pyramidal geometry, the basal Cu-Cl bond lengths are typical [2.2701 (12) and 2.2777 (12) Å], while the apical distances are considerably elongated [2.8505 (12) and 2.9415 (12) Å]. For each mol-ecule, a Cu(II) atom from inversion-related mol-ecules are in nearby proximity to the remaining axial Cu(II) sites, but the Cu⋯Cl distances are very long [3.4056 (12) and 3.1645 (12) Å], attributable to van der Waals contacts. Nonetheless, these contacts appear to have some structure-directing properties, leading to association into dimers. These dimers associate via stacking of the aromatic rings to form extended zigzag chains.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(2)(CH(4)O)(2)], was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempt to synthesize a polynuclear carboxyl-ate bridged manganese(III/IV) complex, using methanol to reduce the permanganate ion. The mol-ecule is centrosymmetric; the pairs of equivalent ligands coordinate trans to each other in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Intra-molecular C-H⋯O bonds lying in the equatorial plane stabilize the mol-ecule. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, creating a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. π-π and C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed. The dihedral angle and centroid-to-centroid distance between the pyridine ring (A) and the benzene ring (B(i)) of a symmetrically related mol-ecule [symmetry code: (i) -1 - x, -y, -z] are 1.27 (11)° and 3.974 (2) Å, respectively. For the C-H⋯π inter-actions, the relevant distances and angles are: C⋯Cg[A(ii)] = 3.643 (2) Å, H⋯Cg[A(ii)] = 2.750 (2) Å and C-H⋯Cg[A(ii)] = 155 (1)° [symmetry code: (ii) x, -1 + y, z].
