One of the most commonly encountered species in the small basidiomycetous sub-phylum Wallemiomycotina is <i>Wallemia</i><i>mellicola</i>, a xerotolerant fungus with a widespread distribution. To investigate the population characteristics of the species, whole genomes of twenty-five strains were sequenced.
