Communication between neurons and developing oligodendrocytes (OLs) leading to OL Ca<sup>2+</sup> rise is critical for axon myelination and OL development. Here, we investigate signaling factors and sources of Ca<sup>2+</sup> rise in OLs in the mouse brainstem.
