<i>Acorhinotermes</i> Emerson, 1949 is the only Neotropical Rhinotermitine genus with no major soldier. Herein <i>Acorhinotermes claritae</i> Castro & Scheffrahn, <b>sp. nov.</b> is described based on minor soldiers and an alate nymph collected in a secondary rain forest in the Colombian Amazon.
