Toscana virus (TOSV) is a <i>Phlebovirus</i> in the <i>Phenuiviridae</i> family, order <i>Bunyavirales</i>, found in the countries surrounding the Mediterranean. TOSV is an important cause of seasonal acute meningitis and encephalitis within its range.
