Crystal structure of tris-(2-di-cyclo-hexyl-phosphino-2',6'-dimeth-oxy-1,1'-biphenyl-κP)-μ-oxoethenyl-idene-triangulo-trigold(I) bis-(tri-fluoro-methane-sulfon-yl)imide.

ABSTRACT: The title ketenyl-idene, [Au₃(C₂O)(C₂₆H₃₅O₂P)₃](C₂F₆NO₄S₂), was obtained upon exposure of [2-(di-cyclo-hexyl-phosphino)-2',6'-dimeth-oxy-1,1'-biphen-yl]gold(I) bis-(tri-fluoro-methane-sulfon-yl)imide to acetic anhydride at elevated temperature. The ketenyl-idene bridge caps the tri-gold cluster. The title compound has provided crystals that upon analysis represent the first tri-gold ketenyl-idene with atomic distances indicative of bonding inter-action between the gold atoms.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Fe(C12H8N2)3][(CF3SO2)2N]2·H2O, is constructed by one octa-hedral [Fe(phen)3](2+) (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline) cation (point group symmetry 2), two Tf2N(-) [bis-(tri-fluoromethyl-sulfon-yl)imide] anions, and one water mol-ecule of crystallization (point group 2). The Fe-N bond lengths are indicative of a d (6) low-spin state for the Fe(II) ion in the complex. The dihedral angle between the phen ligands in the cation is 87.64 (6)°. The Tf2N(-) counter-anion is non-coordinating, with the -CF3 groups arranged in a trans fashion with respect to each other, leading to an anti,anti conformation of the -CF3 groups and -SO2N- moieties relative to the S-C bonds. The water mol-ecule of crystallization connects two O atoms of the Tf2N(-) anions through weak hydrogen bonds. C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions are also observed, consolidating the packing of the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network structure.

Project description:The unusual trinuclear Au(III) oxide title complex, [Au(3)Cl(6)O(C(21)H(24)N(2))(3)](C(2)F(6)NO(4)S(2))·2[Ag(C(2)F(6)NO(4)S(2))], is the side product of the reaction of [1,3-bis-(1,3,5-trimethyl-phen-yl)imidazol-2-yl-idene]dichloridophenyl-gold(III) with silver bis-(trifluoro-methane-sulfon-yl)imide in the presence of traces of water. In contrast to corresponding Au(I) complexes, the core structure of the title compound is planar. Two silver(I) bis-(trifluoro-methane-sulfon-yl)imide units are loosely bound to the complex cation. Here the silver atoms, disordered over two positions in a 0.870?(2):0.130?(2) ratio, inter-act either with the lone pairs of three chlorine ligands or two chlorine ligands and one edge of the mesityl ?-system. The crystal under investigation was a partial racemic twin.

Both the arsine and phosphine ligands are equatorial with respect to the Ru(3) triangle. In addition, each Ru atom carries one equatorial and two axial terminal carbonyl ligands. In each biphenyl unit, the phenyl rings are twisted from each other, making dihedral angles of 51.22 (18), 42.94 (16) and 26.95 (16)°. The arsine-substituted phenyl rings make dihedral angles of 61.22 (15), 87.17 (15) and 83.32 (15)° with each other. The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings are 85.52 (18) and 81.77 (15)° for the two diphenyl-phosphanyl groups, respectively. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into dimers by inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Project description:The asymmetric unit of title compound, C(36)H(27)As, contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules, A and B, with similar conformations. The two phenyl rings of each biphenyl unit are twisted slightly away from each other with dihedral angles of 6.0 (2), 27.7 (3) and 33.4 (2)° in mol-ecule A and 5.7 (3), 27.5 (2) and 33.0 (2)° in mol-ecule B. The As-bonded phenyl rings make dihedral angles of 54.9 (2), 76.0 (2) and 88.2 (2),° with each other in mol-ecule A, and 60.3 (2), 78.1 (2) and 79.5 (2)° in mol-ecule B.
