Epigenetic deregulation is increasingly recognized as a contributing pathological factor in multiple myeloma (MM). In particular tri-methylation of H3 lysine 27 (H3K27me3), which is catalyzed by PHD finger protein 19 (PHF19), a subunit of the Polycomb Repressive Complex 2 (PRC2), has recently shown to be a crucial mediator of MM tumorigenicity.
