<i>Toxoplasma gondii</i> is an obligate intracellular parasite capable of invading any nucleated cell. Three main clonal lineages (type I, II, III) exist and murine models have driven the understanding of general and strain-specific immune mechanisms underlying <i>Toxoplasma</i> infection.
