ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(9)H(9)Cl(2)N(3)O, the semicarbazone group is approximately planar, with an r.m.s deviation from the mean plane of 0.011?(2)?Å. The dihedral angle between the least-squares planes through the semicarbazone group and the benzene ring is 38.76?(9)°. The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, C(9)H(10)BrN(3)O, the hydrazone portion and aliphatic chain are essentially coplanar [maximum deviation 0.057?(15)?Å] and the mean plane makes a dihedral angle of 70.9?(6)° with the benzene ring. The main feature of the crystal structure is the inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond, which links mol-ecules into zigzag chains along the a axis. These chains are further stacked along the b axis.
