ABSTRACT: The tridentate Schiff base ligand in the title compound, [V(C(16)H(14)N(2)O(3))(CH(3)O)O], has its O, N and O' atoms spanning three basal positions of the square-based-pyrimidally V(V) atom. The fourth basal site is occupied by a methoxo ligand, which results from a deprotonated methanol solvent molecule, and the oxido ligand occupies the apical position. The hy-droxy H atom forms an intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bond with an N-atom acceptor site.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C13H14N2O3·C3H10NO3 (+)·Cl(-), contains two independent mol-ecules (A and B) of the title pyrimidine derivative and one ion-pair of tris-(hy-droxy-meth-yl)ammonium chloride. The pyrimidine ring in each pyrimidine derivative has a half-chair conformation. Its mean plane is inclined to the benzene ring by 87.2?(3)° in mol-ecule A and 85.7?(2)° in mol-ecule B. In the crystal, the pyrimidine derivatives are connected to each other by N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming chains propagating along the b-axis direction. The chains are linked via O-H-Cl hydrogen bonds, forming corrugated sheets lying parallel to the bc plane. The sheets are linked via C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. The tris-(hy-droxy-meth-yl)ammonium chloride mol-ecules are located in the cages of the framework. There are also further C-H?O hydrogen bonds and C-H?? inter-actions present in the three-dimensional framework structure. Both the cation and chloride anion of the tris-(hy-droxy-meth-yl)ammonium chloride ion pair are disordered over two positions, with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.418?(8):0.582?(8) for the cation and 0.71?(4):0.29?(4) for the anion.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(11)NO(3), crystallizes in a zwitterionic form and has a trans configuration about the C=N bond. The mol-ecule is almost planar, the dihedral angle between the two benzene rings being 4.32?(8)°. The two hy-droxy substit-uents are coplanar with each of their attached benzene rings [r.m.s. deviations of 0.0053?(2) and 0.0052?(2)?Å]. An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond formed between the iminium N and the phenolate O atom generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, the mol-ecules are linked through O-H?O hydrogen bonds into chains along [110]. Two neighbouring chains are further connected through O-H?O hydrogen bonds in an anti-parallel manner. ?-? inter-actions are also observed, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.7115?(19) and 3.743?(2)?Å.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, C11H15N3OS, shows the flexibility due to the methyl-ene group at the thio-amide N atom in the side chain, resulting in the mol-ecule being non-planar. The dihedral angle between the plane of the benzene ring and that defined by the atoms of the thio-semicarbazide arm is 79.847?(4)°. In the crystal, the donor-acceptor hydrogen-bond character of the -OH group dominates the inter-molecular associations, acting as a donor in an O-H?S hydrogen bond, as well as being a double acceptor in a centrosymmetric cyclic bridging N-H?O,O' inter-action [graph set R22(4)]. The result is a one-dimensional duplex chain structure, extending along [111]. The usual N-H?S hydrogen-bonding association common in thio-semicarbazone crystal structures is not observed.
