ABSTRACT: The Zn(II) ion in the title compound, [Zn(C(9)H(6)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], is located on an inversion center and is octa-hedrally coordinated by two 2-(2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1,3-benzoxazol-3-yl)acetate anions in axial sites and four water mol-ecules in equatorial positions. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and carbon-yl-carboxyl-ate O atoms lead to pleated sheets parallel to (001).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C13H11N2O2)(H2O)4]Br3·2H2O, contains an octa-hedral NiII atom coordinated to the enol form of 1,3-di-pyridyl-propane-1,3-dione (dppo) and four water mol-ecules. Both pyridyl rings on the ligand are protonated, forming pyridinium rings and creating an overall ligand charge of +1. The protonated nitro-gen-containing rings are involved in hydrogen-bonding inter-actions with neighoring bromide anions. There are many additional hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving coordinated water mol-ecules on the NiII atom, bromide anions and hydration water mol-ecules.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(C(7)H(6)NO(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)](n), consists of extended layers parallel to (001) with 2-(pyridin-4-ylsulfan-yl)acetate ligands bridging the Zn(II) atoms. The Zn(II) atom shows a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. The Zn(II) and one O atom are situated on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, intra-layer O-H?O hydrogen-bond inter-actions help to consolidate the coordination layer.

Depending on the number of coordination sites (n) assigned to the BH(4) (-) ligand, the coordination geometry of the W atom may either be described as approximately trigonal-bipyramidal (n = 1) or as very distorted octa-hedral with the bridging H atoms filling two coordination positions (n = 2). Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, [Co(C8H6NO4)2(H2O)4], is centrosymmetric. It is a cobalt(II) complex, bearing two (2-nitro-phen-yl)acetate and four aqua ligands. The coordination around the Co(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, defined by four O atoms of water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane and by two carboxyl-ate O atoms at axial positions. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(12)H(11)N(2)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, contains one-half of the complex mol-ecule and two uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules. The four water O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Zn(II) centre ( symmetry) form a distorted square-planar arrangement, while the distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry is completed by the O atoms of the zwitterionic 2-methyl-benzimidazolium-1,3-diacetate ligands in the axial positions. The benzimidazole ring system is planar, with a maximum deviation of 0.041 (3) Å. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding results in the formation of a non-planar six-membered ring. In the crystal structure, strong intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π contacts between benzimidazole rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.899 (1) Å] may further stabilize the structure.
