ABSTRACT: The Zn(II) ion in the title compound, [Zn(C(9)H(6)NO(4))(2)(H(2)O)(4)], is located on an inversion center and is octa-hedrally coordinated by two 2-(2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-1,3-benzoxazol-3-yl)acetate anions in axial sites and four water mol-ecules in equatorial positions. In the crystal, O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and carbon-yl-carboxyl-ate O atoms lead to pleated sheets parallel to (001).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(C13H11N2O2)(H2O)4]Br3·2H2O, contains an octa-hedral NiII atom coordinated to the enol form of 1,3-di-pyridyl-propane-1,3-dione (dppo) and four water mol-ecules. Both pyridyl rings on the ligand are protonated, forming pyridinium rings and creating an overall ligand charge of +1. The protonated nitro-gen-containing rings are involved in hydrogen-bonding inter-actions with neighoring bromide anions. There are many additional hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving coordinated water mol-ecules on the NiII atom, bromide anions and hydration water mol-ecules.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title complex, [Zn(C(7)H(6)NO(2)S)(2)(H(2)O)](n), consists of extended layers parallel to (001) with 2-(pyridin-4-ylsulfan-yl)acetate ligands bridging the Zn(II) atoms. The Zn(II) atom shows a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. The Zn(II) and one O atom are situated on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. In the crystal, intra-layer O-H?O hydrogen-bond inter-actions help to consolidate the coordination layer.

Project description:In the title paramagnetic 19-electron neutral complex, [W(BH(4))(C(21)H(24)N(2))(2)(NO)(2)], the W(0) atom is coordinated by two 1,3-bis-(2,4,6-trimethyl-phen-yl)imidazol-2-yl-idene (IMes) carbene ligands, two NO groups and two H atoms of an ?(2)-tetra-hydro-borate ligand. Depending on the number of coordination sites (n) assigned to the BH(4) (-) ligand, the coordination geometry of the W atom may either be described as approximately trigonal-bipyramidal (n = 1) or as very distorted octa-hedral with the bridging H atoms filling two coordination positions (n = 2). In the latter case, the coplanar NO groups and bridging H atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.032?Å) form one octa-hedral plane, with mutually trans-oriented carbene ligands. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected via C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, [Co(C8H6NO4)2(H2O)4], is centrosymmetric. It is a cobalt(II) complex, bearing two (2-nitro-phen-yl)acetate and four aqua ligands. The coordination around the Co(II) atom is distorted octa-hedral, defined by four O atoms of water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane and by two carboxyl-ate O atoms at axial positions. The Cd(II) ions and the N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on the inter-section of two crystallographic mirror planes. The C atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand lie on one of these mirror planes, and the acetate groups and water mol-ecules lie across the inter-secting mirror planes. Each Cd(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by four O atoms from four water mol-ecules and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand, whereas each Cd(II) in the anion is nine-coordinated by four pairs of O atoms from the bidentate acetate ligands and one N atom from the bridging pyrazine ligand. In the crystal structure, each anion is surrounded by eight nearest-neighbour cations and vice versa. The crystal structure is stabilized by ionic inter-actions as well as by C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(4)N(5))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of Zn(CH(3)COO)(2)·2H(2)O with 3-(2H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The Zn(II) ion is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 5-(3-pyrid-yl)tetra-zolide ligands and four coordinated water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The dihedral angle between the pyridine and tetra-zole rings is 9.920?(7)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional network by inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds involving the tetra-zole group N atoms, the aqua ligands and solvent water mol-ecules.
