ABSTRACT: The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(19)H(15)BrN(2)O(2), displays a pseudo-trans conformation about the N-N bond [C-N-N=C torsion angle = 164.7?(2)°]. The dihedral angle between the planes of the benzene ring and the naphthyl system is 70.1?(2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into C(4) chains along the c axis by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, C(19)H(15)ClN(2)O(2), was prepared by the reaction of 2-meth-oxy-1-naphthaldehyde with 3-chloro-benzohydrazide in methanol. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the naphthyl ring system is 69.0?(3)°. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains along the c axis. The crystal packing exhibits ?-? inter-actions, as indicated by distances of 3.768?(3)?Å between the centroids of the naphthyl rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

Project description:There are three independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(19)H(16)N(2)O(3), in which the dihedral angles between the naphthalene ring system and the benzene ring are 7.52?(16), 18.15?(18), and 13.9?(2)°. All the mol-ecules exist in the trans configuration with respect to the methyl-idene units. In each mol-ecule there is one O-H?N and one N-H?O intra-molecular hydrogen bond. In the crystal, two of the mol-ecules are linked via a bifurcated N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bond. All three mol-ecules are further linked via C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(23)H(22)N(2)O(2)S(2), the dihedral angles between the 4-meth-oxy-substituted phenyl ring and the other two phenyl rings are 84.4?(4) and 77.7?(1)°, respectively, while the dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings is 57.5?(2)°. The amino group is not involved in an N-H hydrogen bond. The crystal packing is established by inter-molecular C-H?O packing inter-actions involving a relatively rare weak three-center hydrogen bond between the keto O atom and H atoms of the two nearby phenyl rings, which link the mol-ecules into chains running along the a axis. A short intra-molecular C-H⋯N contact closes an S(6) ring. The nitro group is disordered over two orientations in a statistical ratio. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and very weak π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid separation = 3.9168 (17) Å] are observed.
