ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(14)H(14)F(3)NO(4), the 3,3,3-trifluoro-pyruvate fragment has a syn configuration and is noncoplanar with the indole plane [dihedral angle = 84.87?(5)°]. In the crystal, mol-ecules form inversion-related dimers via pairs of inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. These dimers are connected by inter-molecular N-H?O=C(CF(3)) hydrogen bonds to form a two-dimensional network structure.
