Poly[octakis(1H-imidazole-?N(3))octa-?-oxido-tetra-oxidodicopper(II)tetra-vanadate(V)].

ABSTRACT: In the title inorganic-organic hybrid compound, [Cu(2)V(4)O(12)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(8)](n), the V(V) ion is tetra-coordinated by four O atoms and the Cu(II) ion is hexa-coordinated by four N atoms from four imidazole ligands and two O atoms from two tetra-hedral vanadate (VO(4)) units in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The structure consists of two-dimensional sheets constructed from centrosymmetric cyclic [V(4)O(12)](4-) anions covalently bound through O to [Cu(imidazole)(4)](2+) cations. Adjacent sheets are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H?? inter-actions (H?centroid distances = 2.59, 2.66, 2.76, 2.91 and 2.98?Å into a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(2)H(8)N)(6)[V(10)O(28)]·H(2)O, the [V(10)O(28)](6-) polymetalate anion has crystallographic mirror symmetry with six V atoms and 12 O atoms lying on the mirror plane. Each of the V(V) atoms adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Eight terminal O atoms are bonded to V(V) atoms with double bonds and the others act as bridging atoms. In the crystal structure, a network of N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds helps to establish the packing.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Co(3)Yb(2)(C(5)H(2)N(2)O(4))(6)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), contains one Yb(III) ion, two Co(II) ions (one situated on an inversion centre), three imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, two coordinated water mol-ecules and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. The Yb(III) ion is seven-coordinated, in a monocapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry, by six O atoms from three imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands and one water O atom. Both Co(II) ions are six-coordinated in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Co(II) ion that is located on an inversion center is coordinated by two O atoms from two water mol-ecules, as well as two O atoms and two N atoms from two imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. The second Co(II) ion is bonded to four O atoms and two N atoms from four imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, generating a three-dimensional network. The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H?O, O-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving the water mol-ecules and the imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.

Project description:In the title compound, (C9H8N)4[Te2V8O28]·8H2O, the com-plete heteropolyanion is generated by a crystallographic inversion centre. One of the two quniolinium ions forms an N-H?Op (p = polyoxidometallate) hydrogen bond and the other an N-H?Ow (w = water) hydrogen bond. The water mol-ecules further link the components by O-H?Op and O-H?Ow hydrogen bonds. A number of C-H?O inter-actions and aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions [shortest centroid-centroid separation = 3.541?(7)?Å] are also observed. Together, these generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, {[BaCu(2)(C(9)H(4)NO(5))(2)(C(3)H(4)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O}(n), the Ba(2+) cation is deca-coordinate, ligated by four aqua ligands and four [Cu(C(9)H(4)O(5)N)(C(3)H(4)N(2))] 'complex ligands'. The Cu(II)-containing complex-ligands are bridged by the Ba(2+) cations, resulting in a one-dimensional polymeric chain structure. The crystal structure is maintained via N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. There is one disordered solvent water mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit, with occupancies of 0.44 (2) and 0.56 (2).

These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate and sulfate ligands, generating a three-dimensional network. The crystal structure is further stabilized by N-H?O, O-H?O, and C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between water mol-ecules, SO(4) (2-) anions, and imidazole-4,5-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.

Project description:The reaction of MoO(3) with 2-(3-pyrid-yl)benzoimidazole and water in the presence of MnSO(4)·5H(2)O at 453?K under hydro-thermal conditions afforded the title compound, {(C(12)H(11)N(2))[Mo(4)O(13)]}(n), in which infinite molybdenum oxide anionic chains are charge-balanced by diprotonated 2-(3-pyrid-yl)benzoimidazole (H(2)3-PBIM(2+)) cations. Eight [MoO(6)] octa-hedra are edge-shared, forming compact octa-molybdate subunits which are connected through pairs of Mo-O-Mo bridges into extended one-dimensional arrays propagating along the a-axis direction. The asymmetric unit of the metal oxide chain contains one half of the octa-molybdate unit, denoted [Mo(4)O(13)], the other half being generated by an inversion center. These molybdenum oxide chains are further connected through the 2-(3-pyridinio)benzoimidazolium cations into a three-dimensional network via N-H?O hydrogen bonds. In addition, neighbouring diprotonated cations are arranged in a head-to-tail fashion with a plane-to-plane separation of 3.63?(10)?Å, indicating the existence of weak aromatic ?-? stacking inter-actions.

As a result, there is just one quarter-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The title compound features a Zn(4)O(4) cube. Each Zn atom in the cube carries a pentafluorophenyl substituent. Each O atom is bonded to a further Zn atom, which is connected to a pentafluorophenyl substituent and the O atom of a diethyl ether mol-ecule. All ether C atoms are disordered over two sets of sites with a site occupation factor of 0.51?(2) for the major occupied site.
