ABSTRACT: The structure of the title salt, (C(6)H(14)N)(2)[CuBr(4)], is built up from cyclo-hexyl-ammonium cations and tetra-bromidocuprate anions, the latter being located on an inversion center. In the crystal, anions and cations are inter-connected by N-H?Br hydrogen bonds, forming ribbons parallel to [0-11].

Project description:The structure of the title salt, (C(6)H(8)N)(2)[CuCl(3.4)Br(0.6)], consists of two 3-methyl-pyridinium cations and a distorted tetra-hedral [CuCl(3.4)Br(0.6)](2-) dianion. Substitutional disorder with Br is exhibited for three of the Cl atoms of the anion, giving a mixed chloride/bromide cuprate(II) anion. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link two cations to one anion, forming a three-ion aggregate. These are connected into a supra-molecular chain along the b axis via ?-? inter-actions between the pyridinium rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.743?(3)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, (C6H14N)2[Sn(C6H5)2Cl4], contains cyclo-hexyl-ammonium cations in general positions and a stannate(IV) anion that is located on a twofold rotation axis. The Sn(IV) atom in the complex anion is surrounded by four Cl(-) ligands and two trans-phenyl groups in a distorted octa-hedral configuration. The anions are connected with the cations through N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds. Every cation is involved in three N-H?Cl bonds to the chloride ligands of three different anions, and each chloride ligand is linked to two cations. This arrangement leads to a layered structure parallel to (010).

Project description:The title salt, (C6H14N)2[Sn(C2O4)Cl4], was obtained as a by-product from the reaction between 2C6H14N(+)·C2O4 (2-)·1.5H2O and SnCl2·2H2O. The cyclo-hexyl-ammonium cation has a chair conformation. The complex anion consists of an oxalate anion chelating the SnCl4 moiety, resulting in a distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere of the Sn(IV) atom with the O atoms in equatorial cis positions. In the crystal, cations and anions are linked through N-H⋯O and N-H⋯Cl inter-actions into a layered arrangement parallel to (100).

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(2)[CuBr(4)], the geometry around the Cu atom is inter-mediate between tetra-hedral (T(d)) and square planar (D(4h)). Each [CuBr(4)](2-) anion is connected non-symmetrically to four surrounding cations through N-H⋯X (pyridine and amine proton) hydrogen bonds, forming chains of the ladder-type running parallel to the crystallographic b axis. These layers are further connected by means of offset face-to-face inter-actions (parallel to the a axis), giving a three-dimensional network. Cation π-π stacking [centroid separations of 3.69 (9) and 3.71 (1) Å] and Br⋯aryl inter-actions [3.72 (2) and 4.04 (6) Å] are present in the crystal structure. There are no inter-molecular Br⋯Br inter-actions.

Project description:In the title mol-ecular salt, 2C(6)H(11)NH(3) (+)·C(8)H(4)O(4) (2-), the terephthalate dianion is close to being planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.049 Å). In the crystal, the cations and anions are linked by N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into (010) sheets. Of the four terephthalate O atoms, two accept two hydrogen bonds each and two accept one hydrogen bond each.

Crystal structure of the thermochromic bis-(di-ethyl-ammonium) tetra-chlorido-cuprate(II) complex.

Project description:In the structure of the title complex salt, (Et2NH2)2[CuCl4], the asymmetric unit consists of four unique di-ethyl-ammonium cations and three unique tetra-chlorido-cuprate anions. Two of the three anions are located with their copper atoms on independent crystallographic twofold axes, while the remaining tetra-chlorido-cuprate is located at a general position of the ortho-rhom-bic space group P21212. Two of the three Cu atoms adopt a distorted square-planar/disphenoidal geometry and the third Cu atom has a regular square-planar coordination environment. The di-ethyl-ammonium cations form an extensive hydrogen-bonded network through N-H⋯Cl inter-actions with the tetra-chlorido-cuprate anions, resulting in a two-dimensional sheet-like hydrogen-bonded network parallel to the ab direction. The complex was observed to undergo a color shift from deep green at room temperature to pale yellow at temperatures above 328 K.

The structure of the room-temperature phase has been determined in the ortho-rhom-bic space group Pmcm [Morosin & Lingafelter (1961 ▸). J. Phys. Chem. 50-51; Clay et al. (1975 ▸). Acta Cryst. B31 289-290]. The asymmetric unit consists of one discrete tetra-chlorido-cuprate anion with a distorted tetra-hedral geometry and two tetra-methyl-ammonium cations. In the crystal, the cations and the anions are linked via weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, {(C(6)H(5)C(2)H(4)NH(3))(2)[PbBr(4)]}(n), were grown at room temperature from a solution in N,N-dimethyl-formamide (DMF) using nitro-methane as the poor solvent. This perovskite-type organic-inorganic hybrid compound consists of well ordered sheets of corner-sharing disordered PbBr(6) octa-hedra separated by bilayers of phenethyl-ammonium cations. The octa-hedra are rotated and tilted due to N-H⋯Br hydrogen bonds with the ammonium groups, generating a superstructure in the unit cell similar to that of the tetra-chloridoplumbate (C(6)H(5)C(2)H(4)NH(3))(2)[PbCl(4)].
