{2-[(2-Amino-cyclo-hex-yl)imino-meth-yl]phenolato}dioxidovanadium(V).

ABSTRACT: In the title dioxidovanadium complex, [V(C(13)H(17)N(2)O)O(2)], the V(V) atom is in a square-based pyramidal coordination: the basal plane is defined by the phenolate O, imine N and amine N atoms of the tridentate Schiff base ligand, and by one oxide O atom. The apical position is occupied by the other oxide O atom. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by N-H?O and N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds, forming a tetra-mer.

In the crystal, N-H?O(=S) and N-H?O(=P) hydrogen bonds involving two anions and two cations form a centrosymmetric four-component cluster.

The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.
