Bis[2-(benzyl-imino-meth-yl)pyrrol-1-ido-?(2)N,N']bis-(dimethyl-amido-?N)titanium(IV).

ABSTRACT: The mononuclear title complex, [Ti(C(2)H(6)N)(2)(C(12)H(11)N(2))(2)], was synthesized by the reaction of 1-phenyl-N-[(pyrrol-2-yl)methyl-idene]methanamine with Ti(NMe(2))(4). The Ti(IV) atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by four N atoms from two derivatized methanamine ligands and two N atoms from two dimethyl-amide ions. The dihedral angles between the pyrrole and phenyl rings in the bidentate ligands are 62.36?(9) and 78.32?(8)°. In the crystal, a weak ?-? stacking inter-action [centroid-centroid distance = 3.864?(2)?Å] involving centrosymmetrically related mol-ecules is observed.

Project description:The mononuclear title compound, [Ti(C(11)H(8)ClN(2))(2)(C(2)H(6)N)(2)]·C(7)H(8), was synthesized by the reaction of N-(4-chloro-phen-yl)-2-pyrrolylcarbaldimine with Ti(C(2)H(6)N)(4). The Ti(IV) ion is situated on a twofold rotation axis and displays a distorted octa-hedral geometry defined by four N atoms from two 2-[(4-chloro-phen-yl)imino-meth-yl]pyrrol-1-ide ligands and two N atoms from two dimethyl-amine ligands. The Ti-N(pyrrole) bond length [2.1041?(19)?Å] is longer than the Ti-N(dimethyl-amine) bond length [1.9013?(19)?Å]; the imine N atom exhibits the longest Ti-N bond [2.3152?(17)?Å]. The toluene solvent mol-ecule is located on a twofold rotation axis running through the C atom of the methyl group. Consequently, the H atoms of the latter are rotationally disordered. The compound contains no markable hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [[Ti(C(2)H(10)N)(2)(C(11)H(10)N(3))(2)] or Ti(C(11)H(10)N(3))(2)(NEt(2))(2)], was prepared by direct reaction of 2-(N-phenyl-methyl-imino-meth-yl)-1H-imidazole and [Ti(NEt(2))(4)]. The Ti(IV) atom is in a pseudo-octa-hedral coordination environ-ment with the imidazolido-group N-atoms occupying apical positions and amido- and imino-N-atoms cis-located in the equatorial plane. The presence of two bidentate chelating ligands determines the chirality of the Ti(IV) atom. The crystallographically independent unit, except for its phenyl rings, adopts nearly pseudo-C(2) symmetry (rotation around a twofold axis passing through the Ti atom and the centre of the imino-N?imino-N segment). The Ti-N(amido), Ti-N(imidazolido), and Ti-N(imino) bond lengths essentially differ, increasing by approximately 0.2?Å in the series. All ligating N atoms are in a nearly planar environment, which is indicative of additional p?-d? donations towards the metal atom. The two diaza-metallacyclic units are planar within 0.03 and 0.05?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Pd(C(14)H(15)N(2))(2)], is a square-planar palladium complex composed of two deprotonated pyrrole-2-carbaldimine ligands coordinating a central Pd(II) atom. In the crystal, three crystallographically independent complex mol-ecules are observed, one of which is located in a general position, whereas the Pd(II) atoms of the other mol-ecules are situated on crystallographic inversion centers. The aromatic substituents at the imine N atoms in the three mol-ecules show dihedral angles of 87.6 (7)/83.64 (7), 74.3 (7) and 88.3 (7)° with respect to the corresponding PdN(4) plane.

Project description:The chemically achiral title mol-ecule, [Ti(C(4)H(10)N)(2)(C(21)H(16)N(2))], crystallizes in the chiral space group P2(1). All three N atoms coordinating to the Ti(IV) atom adopt planar environments [sums of valence angles = 359.5?(6), 360.0?(7) and 360.0?(6)°], which is indicative of p?-d? donation from all of these N atoms to the metal and, thus, of the formal 18?e(-) nature of the complex. The overall coordination about the Ti(IV) atom is distorted tetra-hedral, assuming the cyclo-penta-dienyl ring occupies one coordination site. The Ti-N(imidazole) amide-type bond is longer by approximately 0.16?Å than the other two Ti-N(amide) bonds.

There are two independent mol-ecules, A and B, in the asymmetric unit in which the dihedral angles between the benzene ring and boron-dipyrromethene mean plane have significantly different values [82.71?(8)° for mol-ecule A and 73.16?(8)° for mol-ecule B]. Inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compund, C(30)H(28)N(2)O(2), a Schiff base synthesised via a condensation reaction between 4-meth-oxy-benzaldehyde and 3,3'-dimethyl-benzidine, a crystallographic twofold rotation axis passes through the mid-point of the C-C bond of the biphenyl unit. Thus, the asymmetric unit comprises one half-mol-ecule. In the biphenyl unit, the aromatic rings are twisted by 13.49?(7)° with respect to one another. The dihedral angles between the biphenyl and meth-oxy-benzene rings are 49.95?(12) and 50.06?(12)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H? O hydrogen bonds contribute to the stabilization of the packing.
